A female Seattle cop has written a brutal exit letter upon retiring, where she blamed the police chief's 'failed leadership' for letting criminals take over the city.

Lieutenant Jessica Taylor, who served in the Seattle Police Department for 23 years, handed in her notice - but instead of filling out a mandatory exit survey, she decided to write a long-winded letter addressed to the police chief.

In her own savage words, she told Chief Adrian Diaz why she made decision to retire in an 'unfiltered, raw, and unapologetic' 15-page rant.

Taylor did not mince her words - and attacked nearly every facet of law enforcement within the city, slamming them for completely failing the general public.

She started the scathing letter with: 'This will be a brutally long letter, but after 23+ years, I have a few things to say.

Taylor also took a jab at the Seattle City Council - calling the institution 'absurd,' before describing the Mayor as 'spineless,' and bashing 'the leniency of the prosecutor's office.' But her main address was to the Police Chief - Adrian Diaz (pictured)

'Each page is initialed so no one can do the typical SPD "I don't know what happened. It just automatically deleted" routine.'

Taylor said that the 'toxic' police department turned out to be 'nothing more than a circus, with boisterous clowns running amok.'

She called her time in the department 'soul-draining.'

On top of that, she knocked the Police Chief's 'failed leadership' that 'accelerated this city's downhill slide straight to rock bottom.'

She told Diaz: 'You willingly became a puppet, a spineless "yes man," perfectly willing to throw the entire department under the bus to achieve your coveted spot as chief, complete with a fancy corner office.

'Your approach reeks of a desperate hunger for control rather than genuine understanding and respect for the autonomy of our officers.

'Your controlling, bullying, and gaslighting tendencies have wreaked havoc on this department, driving away talented and dedicated officers.'

She added: 'You are a vindictive, power-hungry individual, and I wouldn't trust you as far as I could throw you.

'You offered me an opportunity for an honest exit interview, and here it is. I will always stand up for what's right and what I believe in ……..even if I am standing alone.'

Turning her attention to Seattle, she said the city is 'a playground for anarchists and criminals' who have overrun the city - and those in charge 'seem utterly unconcerned with the devastating consequences of their actions.'

Seattle, in Taylor's words, has become the laughingstock of the whole world.

She added: 'People are getting hurt and killed in this city, left and right.

'I bet most of the citizens of Seattle would love to be able to walk outside at night or mosey into downtown Seattle and not be afraid.

'But they can't, and that's your fault. You've failed them. You've failed us.'

Calling for an investigation, Taylor said: 'I hope, with every fiber of my being, that an outside agency investigates you thoroughly.

'Your character is truly questionable at best, and the citizens of this once-great city deserve to know the truth—all of it.'

Speaking to Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, the former lieutenant said: 'I wanted to go out with the truth.

'The officers on the street are the backbone of this department.

'And they’ll do everything that they can and fight tooth and nail to make sure that the public is taken care of

She ended the letter with: 'Did you seriously badge your way into the Taylor Swift concert and go to the front where people paid $1000s to be there?

'And don't you dare say it was work-related because you haven't done police work in years..... if ever.

'If so, please review SPD Manual Section 5.001 (12) & 5.020 and report yourself to OPA immediately.'

A Seattle Police Department spokesperson responded: 'While we don’t address personnel issues, the Seattle Police Department is working alongside our city partners to restore the department to over 1400 officers.

'We want our officers to feel valued and respected for their hard work every single day. We are committed to highlighting that work on a routine basis.'

In Seattle, homeless people have been pictured slumped over in the streets and openly shooting up drugs, after the city's officials chose not to make public drug use illegal.

Earlier last month, the Seattle City Council voted not to pass legislation that would have allowed the City Attorney's Office to prosecute public drug use cases.

The move would have brought Seattle into compliance with the state's new drug possession law, which makes the crime a gross misdemeanor.

New pictures show homeless people openly abusing drugs on the streets of the Washington state city.

In one, a man can be seen using a hypodermic needle to inject drugs into his hand while propped outside a liquor store.

Others show people spaced out and hunched over on the sidewalks, with paraphernalia strewn around them.

The council bill failed to pass in a 5-4 vote with councilmembers Alex Pedersen, Sara Nelson, Debora Juarez and Dan Strauss voting in favor of the bill.

Councilmembers Lisa Herbold, Kshama Sawant, Teresa Mosqueda, Andrew Lewis and Tammy Morales voted in opposition to the bill.

  1. Badging his way into a Taylor Swift concert. That is seriously tacky. And possibly illegal.

  2. But all this crime and social ills makes the chief FEEL BAD. That's what's important.
