POPE GIVES ANTI-LGBTQ BISHOP THE HEAVE-HO

By Bob Walsh

Joseph Strickland, 65, the Bishop of Tyler, Texas, has just been removed from office by Pope Francis.  A primary cause of friction was the fact that the Pope seems to be ready to welcome LGBTQ people into the church and Strickland is vehemently opposed to any such move.  Popes don't like it when their underlings challenge them in matters of the faith, in which they are supposed to be moved by the holy spirit and therefor infallible.

Bishops are hardly ever thrown out.  They are sometimes forced to resign or retired at age 75, but hardly ever thrown out.

Strickland asserted that it was a "travesty" that the taking of LGBTQ people into the church was even being discussed.
