Texas A&M University to close Qatar campus

The Texas A&M Board cited heightened instability in the Middle East as the reason to end its contract with the Qatar Foundation to run the branch campus. The foundation accuses the board of falling prey to a “disinformation campaign.”

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents voted Thursday to close the Qatar campus.
 
"The idea that a military conflict in Israel, which ... is not immediately proximate to Qatar seems far fetched," he said.
