Whole world laughing at Trump and Musk ...

Ex-Trump ally billionaire Elon Musk's latest promise could throw a major wrench into Trump's governance plans for his second term.

Musk once more sounding off against the president's signature budget bill currently making its way through Congress

'If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day,' Musk pledged in a post on X Monday evening.

'Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a Voice,' he added.

A few hours before his new pledge to primary Republicans, Musk called out their refusal to pass legislation that he sees as sufficiently conservative via a post on X Monday afternoon, as senators voted on various amendments to Trump's budget package.

A full Senate vote on the budget bill is expected either late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning, as President Trump has been pushing Congress to get it to his desk by July 4th.

The Senate version of Trump's bill is estimated to add between 3.3 billion and 4.5 billion to the national debt.

'It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record Five Trillion Dollars that we live in a one-party country – the Porky Pig Party!!' Musk wrote on X.

'Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,' Musk added.

A few minutes later, Musk also called out several House Republicans who are a part of the conservative 'Freedom Caucus,' for their votes to pass the House version of the bill.

'How can you call yourself the Freedom Caucus if you vote for a Debt Slavery bill with the biggest debt ceiling increase in history? @RepAndyHarrisMD @chiproytx,' Musk wrote, addressing the two GOP lawmakers directly.

Musk then escalated his attacks further, pledging to oust Republicans from Congress who vote for the bill.

He said that any GOP lawmakers who 'campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history' while adding they 'should hang their head in shame!'

Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks alongside U.S. President Donald Trump to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on May 30, 2025 in Washington, DC. Musk, who served as an adviser to Trump and led the Department of Government Efficiency, announced he would leave his role in the Trump administration to refocus on his businesses.

Musk, the world's richest man now worth over $400 billion, founded the AmericaPAC super pac in 2024.

AmericaPAC raised over $260 million last year, and spent it in support of Republicans, many of whom ran in swing districts. Over $88 million went to directly supporting Trump.

Musk was rewarded handsomely for his efforts, and spent nearly four months in Trump's White House as a 'special government employee' leading the Department of Government efficiency (DOGE)

In that role, he pinpointed many areas where the federal government could make budget cuts, but in Musk's eyes much of that work will be for nothing if the government doesn't curb its record high spending levels.

Some libertarian-minded Republicans have previously taken Musk's side in the GOP budget fight.

New additions to the the national debt were have been a non-starter for the likes of Kentucky Republican Rand Paul, who notes that he does want to see the 2017 tax cuts made permanent.

Paul also described the current $5 trillion in new debt that the budget bill would add as 'Biden spending levels.'

‘This will be the largest increase in the debt ceiling ever in our history. We've never raised the debt ceiling without meeting the target. You can say it doesn't directly add to the debt but if you reach the ceiling you'll meet that. We won't discuss it for a year or two. I think it is a terrible idea to do this' Paul told Fox News earlier in June.

Paul has also contrasted the pending package with the funds anticipated to be saved by spending cuts pushed for by DOGE.

'That's more than all the DOGE cuts that we found so far. So, the increase in spending put into this bill exceeds the DOGE cuts. When you look just at the border wall, they have $46.5 billion for the border wall,' Paul said on Face the Nation earlier this month.

Utah GOP Senator Mike Lee is another Senate Republican who hasn't fully supported President Donald Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' of a spending package which is currently being voted on in the U.S. Senate after being passed by the House of Representatives back in May.

Lee and Musk previously joined forces to describe the bill as 'debt slavery' in a back and forth exchange on X.

WHATEVER POSSESSED THE SHOOTER TO LURE FIREFIGHTERS INTO A DEADLY AMBUSH?

The sniper who lured hundreds of firefighters into a deadly ambush last night has been named as Wess Roley.

Roley was found dead near his gun on Canfield Mountain outside of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Sunday evening.

He slaughtered two firefighters, who haven't been named, and left a third critically-ill after starting a brush fire cops fear was used to bait the fire department.

Roley was identified by a law enforcement official who spoke with the Associated Press on Monday on the condition of anonymity.

According to a Facebook profile belonging to his mom, Heather Cuchiara, he celebrated his 20th birthday last month.

It remains unclear if Roley was employed, public records say his last address was listed as being in Phoenix, Arizona. A motive has not been revealed yet.

Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris said on Sunday it was unclear if the gunman was killed by a cop's bullet, or if he took his own life.

Roley's body was pulled away from the scene just as the blaze began to spread across Canfield Mountain.

The fire was first reported at around 1.21pm. Two local firefighters - one from Coeur d'Alene Fire Department and another from Kootenai County Fire & Rescue - were shot and killed while scoping out the scene.

A third was left 'fighting for his life' after being struck and rushed to surgery, but is now described as being in a stable condition.

'This was a total ambush. These firefighters did not have a chance,' Norris said on Sunday.

Roley was seen glowering from a driver's license photo but was also pictured on social media images with strikingly-long hair which emphasized his delicate features.

No public social media profiles have been unearthed for Riley and he does not appear to have left any kind of manifesto explaining his reason to murder two.

Roley's father Jason, 39, lives about an hour's drive away from the scene of the shooting, in the town of Priest River, Idaho.

He is married to a woman called Sara Roley - Wess' stepmother - and the pair are parents to two young children.

The scene on Sunday was sheer pandemonium as the brush fire burned and firefighters rushed to the scene only to come under heavy fire.

By around 4.30pm, Sheriff Norris gave law enforcement the authority to shoot to kill the gunman if they were given the opportunity. He deployed two helicopters with snipers to take out the gunman.

It is believed the gunman was the only shooter in the attack 'based on the trajectory [of the bullets] and based on the type of weapons that this individual had that we could recover,' Norris said.

He explained that it is likely the gunman was running as he fired, as he announced 'there is no threat to the community at this time.'

The suspect's motive for the shooting remains unclear. An investigation into the shooting will continue today, where Norris said he expects to find more weapons that were left at the scene.

Harrowing fire department scanner calls revealed the terror the first responders faced as they arrived on the scene.

'Send law enforcement right now! There's an active shooter zone,' one firefighter could be heard crying out.

The report cites sources familiar with the situation in Syria and notes that the proposal includes not only bilateral terms with Israel, but also broader geopolitical guarantees, particularly from the United States.

Last week, Israeli National Security Council Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi presented Israel's rationale for normalizing ties with Syria during a closed session of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Hanegbi reportedly said that Israel and the Syrian regime share common interests and that Syria opposes Iran and its allied states and terrorist organizations.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump told Fox News that additional countries are interested in joining the Abraham Accords. When asked whether Syria was among them, he neither confirmed nor denied it.

TRUMP AND NETANYAHU ARE CONDEMNED TO DEATH, TERROR, OR EXILE UNDER IRAN'S ISLAMIC PENAL CODE

Top Iran cleric declares Trump and Netanyahu ‘enemies of Allah’

Fatwa calls on Muslims everywhere to make the Israeli and US leaders “regret their words and wrongdoings.”

By Ryan Jones

Israel Today

Nasir Makarim al-Shirazi

Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi

Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, one of Iran’s most senior Shia clerics, has issued a fatwa condemning US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “enemies of Allah.” The decree, released on June 30, carries potent implications—it frames both leaders as legitimate targets under Iranian and Sharia law.

Ayatollah Shirazi is a Marja, the most senior level of religious authority in Iran’s official brand of Shia Islam. A fatwa by a Marja isn’t mere opinion—it’s a binding religious directive. Shirazi’s fatwa labels Trump and Netanyahu as “Mohareb,” meaning perpetrators of war against Allah—an offense punishable by death, terror, or exile under Iran’s Islamic penal code.

Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi

Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi (second from left) is pictured during a turban-wearing ceremony at a seminary in the holy city of Qom on February 8, 2024.

The Ayatollah urged Muslims around the world to take action: “Make them regret their words and wrongdoings.” He insisted any cooperation with these leaders is haram (religiously forbidden), and that those who suffer or die in opposing them will be honored as martyrs.

A translation of the fatwa provided by the National Union for Democracy in Iran reads:

“Anyone who aims to harm the Muslim Ummah [global community of Muslims] and threatens the Supreme Leader or other religious leaders or, Allah forbid, strikes out, is hereby declared Mohareb [enemy of Allah].

“Any collaboration with or assistance to them is Haram [forbidden] for Muslims and Islamic states.

“It is upon all Muslims across the world to make these enemies regret their words and their wrongdoing, and if harm or hardship befalls them, they will be rewarded as Mojaeh [warriors] in the path of Allah, if Allah wills it.”

The fatwa was issued in response to a formal religious query urging Ayatollah Shirazi to address Israeli and US strikes on Iran and humiliating remarks made by both Trump and Netanyahu against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

As noted, this fatwa is more than a symbolic gesture—it has real-world implications. Labeling high-ranking foreign leaders as enemies of Allah and calling for their punishment can inspire and legitimize attempts on their lives. For Iranian true believers, it is just short of a direct order to assassinate Trump or Netanyahu.

A similar fatwa was issued in 1989 against author Salman Rushdie, and Shia faithful have since attempted to kill Rushdie on several occasions.

It is nothing short of state-backed religious incitement, and again highlights the fact that this is a religious war in which clergy shape the battlefield as much as missiles, tanks, and jets.

THE NETANYAHU-HATING ISRAELI LEFT HAS A MELTDOWN OVER TRUMP'S PRAISE OF BIBI

A doozy of an anti-Netanyahu/Trump two-fer

The claim that the Israeli prime minister crafted the U.S. president’s Truth Social post is as laughable as it is a lie.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Trump in the Oval Office of the White House, Feb. 4, in Washington, D.C.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Trump in the Oval Office of the White House, Feb. 4, in Washington, D.C.

You can’t make this stuff up. Yet Nir Hefetz—a state witness in the ongoing bogus trial of his former boss, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu—just gave it the old college try.

In an interview with Channel 12’s current-events program “Duach Matzav” (“situation report”), Hefetz made as assertion worthy of the same network’s left-wing satire program “Eretz Nehederet.”

But he and his hosts, well-known Bibi-bashers Yaron Avraham and Einav Galili, discussed the claim in earnest.

The chat came on the heels of a Truth Social post on Thursday by U.S. President Donald Trump. The lengthy rant, replete with customary capital letters—some in odd places, others purposely employed for emphasis—was an ode to Netanyahu and an attack on those using bogus legal tricks to oust him.

“BREAKING NEWS,” Trump began. “I was shocked to hear that the State of Israel, which has just had one of its Greatest Moments in History, and is strongly led by Bibi Netanyahu, is continuing its ridiculous Witch Hunt against their Great War Time Prime Minister!”

He went on, “Bibi and I just went through HELL together, fighting a very tough and brilliant longtime enemy of Israel, Iran, and Bibi could not have been better, sharper, or stronger in his LOVE for the incredible Holy Land. Anybody else would have suffered losses, embarrassment, and chaos! Bibi Netanyahu was a WARRIOR, like perhaps no other Warrior in the History of Israel, and the result was something that nobody thought was possible, a complete elimination of potentially one of the biggest and most powerful Nuclear Weapons anywhere in the World, and it was going to happen, SOON!”

He continued, “We were fighting, literally, for the Survival of Israel, and there is nobody in Israel’s History that fought harder or more competently than Bibi Netanyahu. Despite all of this, I just learned that Bibi has been summoned to Court on Monday for the continuation of this long running, (He has been going through this “Horror Show” since May of 2020—Unheard of! This is the first time a sitting Israeli Prime Minister has ever been on trial.), politically motivated case, “concerning cigars, a Bugs Bunny doll, and numerous other unfair charges” in order to do him great harm. Such a WITCH HUNT, for a man who has given so much, is unthinkable to me. He deserves much better than this, and so does the State of Israel.”

Finally, he wrote, “Bibi Netanyahu’s trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State. Perhaps there is no one that I know who could have worked in better harmony with the President of the United States, ME, than Bibi Netanyahu. It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu. THIS TRAVESTY OF ‘JUSTICE’ CAN NOT BE ALLOWED!”

Netanyahu’s supporters were buoyed by the unequivocal praise, particularly since it followed a couple of less-than-encouraging finger-waggings—as well as the dropping of an F-bomb aimed simultaneously at Israel and the Islamic Republic.

Naturally, the anybody-but-Bibi crowd wasn’t pleased with Trump’s outrage at the “witch hunt” against the “great hero” Netanyahu. While they had warmly embraced the previous administration in Washington, which actively abetted the protest movement’s efforts to topple the Israeli prime minister, they couldn’t tolerate Trump’s merely daring to voice a counter opinion.

The ensuing mainstream-media hysteria, disguised as dismissiveness, was thus to be expected. The predictability alone would have been sufficient to elicit a gaping yawn. Until Hefetz provided a hefty dose of comic relief, that is.

“Benjamin Netanyahu taught me one thing about sticking to the structure of an article,” he said, adding that though Trump’s post, which he misnamed a “tweet,” didn’t fall under that category, the rule still applied. “It’s what [Netanyahu] calls a ‘sandwich.’”

Hefetz explained that this meant beginning a piece with a point, illustrating it through an argument and ending it with the same message. Never mind that this is the basis of all essays; Hefetz apparently first learned of it when he went to work for Bibi.

Hefetz proceeded to illustrate that this is what Trump was doing in his post: Naming the topic (the “witch hunt”); backing it up with mention of the Bugs Bunny doll [that Arnon Milchen gifted to the Netanyahus’ five-year-old son, Yair, nearly three decades ago); and ending with a call to end the trial.

It was, in Hefetz’s view, a “classic Netanyahu article written by [Strategic Affairs Minister and longtime Bibi confidant] Ron Dermer.”

Even interviewer Yaron Avraham was slightly taken aback.

“Ron Dermer wrote it?” he asked.

“Absolutely,” Hefetz insisted. “And Bibi, of course. With comments by [Netanyahu’s defense attorney] Amit Haddad. And I’m guessing … that that Yair Netanyahu was also in the picture.”

Yes, said Hefetz, when he woke up in the morning and read Trump’s post, he thought, “Way to go, Ron Dermer and Bibi.” To clarify that he was being sarcastic, not merely smug, he clapped his hands for melodramatic effect.

Talk about a feeble two-fer. But disparaging a duo who just took on Iran’s nuclear program with jaw-dropping cooperation and stunning prowess wasn’t the main cause for a global guffaw.

No, the real reason Hefetz’s statements were so hilarious is that nobody who’s paid attention to Trump’s temperament and Netanyahu’s rhetorical flair could possibly hear them without laughing. Indeed, if there’s anyone on this planet who doesn’t take literal or figurative dictation from others, it’s Trump.

The idea that he would allow Netanyahu and Dermer to tell him what to say—or that Netanyahu and Dermer would deign to put words in his mouth—is beyond ludicrous. The good news is that we all could do with a little laughter these days. Oh, and that late Friday night, Trump reiterated on Truth Social his insistence that Bibi’s trial is a “travesty of ‘justice,'” which “will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations.”

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

THE PA IS NOT FIT TO RULE ANYTHING

Is the Palestinian Authority fit to rule Gaza?

As long as its educational format remains in place, there seems to be no chance for a peace settlement between the P.A. and Israel.

A Grade 5 Arabic language book produced by the Palestinian Authority Education Ministry and adopted by UNRWA in its schools, glorifying Palestinian terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, a PLO member who participated in the 1978 Coastal Road massacre in Israel that resulted in the death of 38 Israeli civilians, including 13 children.

The idea of reinstalling the Palestinian Authority in Gaza as part of a suggested solution meant to end the current war there has raised some serious questions.

One might wonder, first and foremost, whether the P.A. is capable of maintaining real control, bearing in mind that it previously ruled there and was ousted by Hamas in a military coup in 2007.

Moreover, the P.A. itself is overwhelmingly corrupt and barely maintains control in what it calls the “West Bank” (Judea and Samaria). One could even suggest that the P.A.’s very existence there relies to a large extent on the massive Jewish presence in many areas there—civilian settlements and military forces.

Perhaps it would be possible to bring the P.A. back into power in Gaza under the same conditions, bearing in mind that Hamas managed to take control of the Strip only after it had been cleared of its Jewish population and IDF forces in 2005.

Furthermore, if it is intended to use the P.A.’s control of Gaza as a prelude to advancing the two-state solution—and assuming that Hamas will cease to exist as an adversary (something that is difficult to see today)—there is another obstacle that should not be ignored; namely, the P.A.’s ideology regarding Israel, which is not fundamentally different from that of Hamas.

A grade 3 textbook depicts Yasser Arafat declaring Palestinian Independence Day, along with the quote, ‘In the name of God, and in the name of the Palestinian Arab people, the establishment of the State of Palestine, on our Palestinian land, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital’

Since 2000, I have been studying the attitude to Israel, Jews, and peace in the PA textbooks, which are also taught in all schools in the Gaza Strip, including those run by the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). I have examined more than 1,000 textbooks and teachers’ manuals, assuming they constitute the clearest indication of how the P.A. strives to educate its younger generations.

The findings of this research activity reveal three fundamental principles as far as Palestinian textbooks address the conflict:

  1. Delegitimization of the existence of the State of Israel and the very presence of its more than seven million Jewish citizens: Israel does not appear on any map while “Palestine” is presented as the sovereign state in the region that has been under occupation since 1948. In this context, the phrase “Zionist occupation” replaces the phrase “State of Israel” in most references to the conflict. The Jews in Israel are presented as a foreign colonial population and their cities, primarily Tel Aviv, do not appear on the map. Their history in their ancient homeland is denied, as is the existence of places sacred to them there. The Western Wall in Jerusalem, for example, is presented as a Muslim holy site exclusively.
  2. Demonization of both Israel and the Jews: The latter are attributed with annihilationist intentions against the Palestinians and are alleged to have committed massacres against them under the influence of Jewish religious thought. Jews are demonized as well outside the context of the conflict. They are portrayed as traitors since the early days of Islam and as enemies of God’s prophets, which carries, in effect, a death sentence against them, in the eyes of students coming from a traditional society.
  3. Indoctrination for a war of liberation from occupation, which includes the territories of the State of Israel within its pre-1967 borders: Such a struggle is given a religious nature, and terrorism is made an essential part thereof. There are even isolated references that make the extermination of the Jews part of the liberation process.

An up-to-date presentation of materials taught in recent years in UNRWA schools (grades one-10), in addition to details about the researcher, scope of the research and methodology, can be seen here.

It should be emphasized that the textbooks for grades 11 and 12 are no better, and I have included two examples in my study: One is taken from an Islamic religious textbook, and the other from a Christian religious one (used by Christian students in the Palestinian education system).

As long as this educational format remains in place, there seems to be no chance for a peace settlement between the P.A. and Israel. On the contrary, placing the P.A. as a governing entity in Gaza would open the door to renewed radicalization there.

KOHBERGER JUDGE TURNS DOWN SODDI DEFENSE

By Bob Walsh

Judge Stephen Hippler is running the Kohberger trial in Moscow, Idaho.  That is the rather notorious case of the murder of four University of Idaho students.  Judge Hippler has just ruled against Kohberger's use of the SODDI defense.

This defense (Some Other Dude Did It) is of course the basis of a lot of criminal defense strategy.  In this case the judge said NO.  Kohberger was planning to allege that any one of four named alternate suspects, or a combination thereof, in fact committed the murders.  The trouble is all four cooperated fully with the investigation, had reasonable alibis and gave DNA samples for comparison.  Not one of them had any DNA trace at the crime scene where Bryan Kohberger left significant DNA at the scene, as well as a bunch of other forensic evidence.  There was ZERO evidence to implicate any of the alternate suspects.

Kohberger was initially tripped up by a familial DNA match to physical evidence left at the crime scene.  That resulted in a court order to supply a DNA sample which has very likely nailed Kohberger's ass for these murders.

Kohberger's lawyer can of course go after the thoroughness and scope of the police investigation but can not suggest any of these particular named suspects did the deed absent any actual evidence to support this contention.

The judge has denied any further stalls by the defense.  The case is supposed to go to trial in about five weeks and could result in Kohberger having a date with a firing squad.

FIREFIGHTERS AND COPS MET BY DEADLY GUNFIRE WHILE RESPONDING TO A FIRE SET BY THE GUNMAN IN THE IDAHO WOODS

Gunman found dead after killing at least two firefighters, cops in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, after 'blaze set as bait'

A gunman who opened fire on first responders who responded to a blaze in Idaho on Sunday has been found dead.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that SWAT teams found the unidentified male dead on Canfield Mountain outside of Coeur d'Alene with a firearm nearby.

It is believed he set the blaze in the woods as bait for first responders, killing two firefighters who responded to the scene at around 2pm and injuring a number of others.

A shelter-in-place order has now been lifted, though officials warn there is still an active wildfire after crews were forced to pull back when the shooting began, Northern Lakes Fire District Chief Pat Riley had earlier explained to KHQ.

He then said at a news conference Sunday night that he was not deploying any more firefighters to the area until the threat was neutralized.

Those who responded to the scene were heard in harrowing radio dispatch calls revealing the terror they faced as they went to battle the blaze.

'Send law enforcement right now! There's an active shooter zone,' one firefighter could be heard crying out.

'Everybody's shot up here!' the firefighter continued, noting that two battalion chiefs were 'down' and he was 'pinned.'

'It's clear to me that this fire was set intentionally to draw us in,' the firefighter claimed.

Another firefighter was later heard telling dispatch he had 'no idea where the shooters [are] at or where they're going in, in which direction,' one person could be heard telling dispatch.

'I would recommend that our units, all of our firing units, escape further down the pavement towards town, maybe a half a mile or so to a safe staging area,' the first responder said, according to NBC News.

He continued to say they were going to need 'multiple ambulances' at the scene.

'As soon as we get law enforcement in here to get these people out, I recommend we get no less than five... ambulances staged at the bottom. I don't care where we get them from.'

The shooting continued into Sunday evening, as Sheriff Norris gave police the authority to shoot to kill the perpetrators if they are given the opportunity.

'I am hoping someone has a clear shot, they are not showing any signs of wanting to surrender,' Norris said of the shooters, adding that it is 'going to be a tough couple of hours' as the fire continues to burn and civilians may remain trapped on Canfield Mountain.

Life Flight helicopters were deployed to the scene, and photos and videos posted online showed a large police presence in the surrounding area.

Authorities from Spokane, Washington provided assistance in what they described on social media as an 'active, ongoing incident' on East Nettleton Gulch Road.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino also confirmed on social media that assets were heading to the scene to provide 'tactical and operational support,' and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that the US Forest Service deployed additional firefighting and law enforcement resources.

Additionally, law enforcement agents and medical professionals were on standby at Kootenai Health, where one firefighter remained in surgery Sunday night.

Fire Chief Riley said he 'was completely heartbroken' when he got the news of the shooting.

'We trained for this. You never want to see it in your own community.'

The shooting prompted the evacuation of the Fernan Gun Club, whose members were told there was a sniper in the area, the Coeur d'Alene Press reports.

But resident Mark Lathrop expressed more concern about the fire than he did about the active shooting.

'They have cleared the underbrush, but where they're going to be, it's going to be pretty thick and it's very, very dry. We haven't had a lot of rain here,' he told CNN, noting that there are also a lot of places where the suspects could be hiding out.

'If you went away from town, these logging roads go 30 to 50 miles. You’ll hit another town, so quite a big area to search,' Lathrop said.

Meanwhile, Idaho Gov. Brad Little has called the attack a 'heinous direct assault on our brave firefighters.

'I ask all Idahoans to pray for them and their families as we wait to learn more,' he said, adding that he and his wife are 'heartbroken' by the news.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also said her department is actively monitoring the situation.

'Pray for Idaho's first responders,' she wrote on X. 'Justice will be served.'
