Yesterday afternoon in Stockton (actually a county area just outside of the city) on Florida Avenue the S.O. responded to a call of a man with a gun, probably a man in violation of a restraining order with a gun, at a residence.
The deputies arrived and saw a 60ish male pacing circles in the front yard. The deputies challenged him. He responded with a shot. The deputies responded with two shots. The bad guy missed. At least one of the deputies did not. The suspect was declared terminally rehabilitated at a local hospital.
People with restraining orders are not supposed to have fire arms, so I guess it must have been the gun's fault.
Sounds like classic suicide by cop.
