The
REGAL chain of movie houses is closing down all of it's US and UK
operations for an unknown period of time beginning later on this week.
It is, as you might expect, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and their
inability to obtain new material to show, even if they could sell seats.
I
admit I don't do much business with Regal as the closest one to me is
in an area I don't much like at night, but I do not wish them any ill
will. I hope they manage to hang in there until this mess sorts itself
out, with a bit of luck in a very few months. Must be very unpleasant
for their help. It is not like there are a bunch of available jobs out
there.
The chain emphasized that they are NOT going out of business, merely a hiatus. I hope they are correct.
