The Biden administration is VERY quietly completing
several sections of the horrible and nasty and racist Donald Trump
border wall near Yuma. These fill-ins are in the vicinity of the
Morelos Dam just west of downtown Yuma. (I didn't even know there was a
downtown Yuma but then again I haven't been there is something like 40
years.)
The actual
authorization came down on Thursday from DHS Secretary Alejandro
Mayorkas, Mr. THE BORDER IS SECURE himself. Theoretically this is not
being done to increase border security (because it is already so secure)
but to discourage unsafe movement of undocumented democrats into the
country.
The Yuma area is
the third most active district on the US / Mexico border with 235,230
documented "contacts" with undocumented democrats in the lasts nine
months.
When I retired from TABC my wife took a Traveling Nurse contract in Yuma. We really liked living there. It's a big military town with the Marine Airbase just East of town. Lots of History. If you ever get a chance, tour the Yuma Territorial Prison.
ReplyDeleteThis wall is being completed in an effort to promote a Democrat (Mark Kelly) in a heated Senate race.
The old prison was the high point of my visit there too.
