Susan Morales, 16, disappeared on the way home last summer.  Miles Bryant, 22, now a former officer with the Doraville (GA) P.D. is now charged with concealing her death and filing a false police report.

Ms. Morales was reported missing on July 26.  On February 6 human remains were found near a camp site in the area.  Those remains were positively identified as Ms. Morales.  Bryant was known to live in the area where Morales disappeared from.  He is being charged with dumping her body in the woods and failure to report her death.  He is believed to have raped and murdered her but has not been charged with those offenses.  He also filed a report of his firearm being stolen in a car burglary one day after the girl was reported missing.

The former officer is still in custody.  His exact reason for being fired has not yet been released.
