Antioch and Pittsburg officers who were indicted after an 18-month
investigation into an alleged criminal network composed of law
enforcement officers
Yesterday morning the FBI arrested "a number" of
currently serving police officers with the Antioch and Pittsburg (CA)
police departments.
It
was not announced how many cops were arrested or what the charges were.
Regular readers will be aware that both the feds and the state DOJ have
been looking at the two agencies for assorted racist practices and
grotesque stupidity.
The
chief of the Antioch police department, Steven Ford, retired a week ago
amidst issues relating to the scandal. He announced the retirement last
month.
FURTHER: A
total of ten people were arrested, including one C.S.O. Not all of
those arrested were currently on duty due to medical or administrative
leaves or no longer being employed by their departments. The charges
include wire fraud, deprivation of rights under color of authority,
conspiracy to deprive rights and conspiracy to distribute steroids.
Idiocy in uniform.
ReplyDeleteSeveral were arrested today by local authorities. Mostly for mundane stuff like fixing tickets for their buddies.
