Well, Haley got skunked and
bailed out. Not surprising. I hope she can see her way clear to
endorsing Trump downstream. It will hurt her if she doesn't and she
might have a future in politics if she does not come out looking like a
nasty spoil-sport.
California
Proposition 1 is winning, barely. It will be days before they have a
final count and it may be subject to a recount. Right now it is running
50.1 % in favor. Floating a $6 billion bond when the state is more
than $70 billion upside down is a big ask. Newsom put a bunch of
political capital behind this and if it doesn't pass he will look like a
weak punk.
Garvey and
Schiff are running very, very close for both the partial term and the
full term in the U. S. senate. That is what Schiff wanted. He does not
want to run against another Democrat and that's what would have
happened if Garvey had bombed. Thing is that Garvey is showing a very
surprising strength in general and come the general election it is
possible he will knock Schiff down. I am not betting on it but it is
far from impossible.
The
current Stockton Mayor, Kevin Lincoln, is losing to incumbent Josh
Harder in the 9th Congressional centered in Stockton. That is good.
Kevin Lincoln is a jerkoff.
The 5th State Senate District shows the Republican, Jim Shoemaker, well ahead of Democrat Jerry McNerney.
Some
of the major questions will not be settled for days. CA has universal
mail-out ballots and accepts ballots for one week after election day as
long as they were postmarked on or before election day.
