Robert Gates infamously said in 2014 that Joe Biden "has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades."
Make that five decades as the world watches Biden falter and fail
on every move he makes. My lengthy article of Biden's wrong-headed
issues related to Israel going back to Golda Meir and Menachem Begin was
repeated on Fox News by Mark Levin.
Today, Gates' assessment was confirmed by former US Ambassador to
Israel, David Friedman. who accuses Biden of betraying Israel in favor
of Hamas,
Ambassador Friedman rarely tweets, but wrote on 9 May; "Biden is
siding with Hamas over Israel – there's no other way to say it. And to
those who say he is protecting the Palestinian people, I call BS. Hamas
is a far greater enemy of the Palestinians than is Israel. Hamas is the
cause of their suffering. Palestinians will continue to suffer until
Hamas is eradicated. And, as for the hostages held by Hamas (including
Americans), this betrayal of Israel makes their release much more
difficult."
Friedman closed by repeating Robert Gates' words; "Biden continues to fail on every tough foreign policy call. And it's all to gain the votes of self-hating Americans." Biden's two-state solution seems to be to win the states of Michigan and Minnesota to keep his radical voters by ditching Israel and gifting Hamas a victory in Gaza by surviving Israel's final assault in Rafah. Survival is all it takes for Hamas to claim victory in Gaza, and Biden is helping them to achieve that goal.
Biden's active step to achieve that goal is to prevent Israel from receiving the weapons and ammunition approved by Congress, which Biden signed off on, thereby turning this commitment into law. Now Biden is backtracking that law by stopping the supply of essential munitions to Israel. The effect of Biden's refusal will directly lead directly to the death of more Israeli soldiers forced to operate in the dense urban Hamas jungle in Rafah without the ammunition-starved artillery covering their ground operations and leaving them more exposed to the enemy.
This is the deadly effect of Biden's latest anti-Israel back-stabbing which my American contacts tell me is an impeachable offence. I doubt the Democrats would support a Republican move to impeach the President in an election year, but the gesture is important to highlight that a commitment to Israel's security remains sacrosanct in Congress. However, from an Israeli perspective, more votes will come Biden's way by affirmatively supporting Israel than selling us out to Hamas and Hamas supporters in America.
