The Democrat primary for New York Mayor is next week.  Cuomo is very likely to get the nod and therefore very likely to be the next mayor.  That being said Santa Claus, aka Zohran Mamdani, is polling close to 40% and is not completely out of the question.

He wants a total rent control freeze and free child care for everybody paid for by the government.  He also wants government owned and run grocery stores throughout the city.  The truly insane thing is that this guy has a reasonable chance of winning.  He PROBABLY won't, but it is not completely unrealistic.

There are a total of nine people on the ballot.
