By a 7-2 vote SCOTUS overruled a lower court and said that the dreaded "big oil" can in fact sue the formerly great state of CA over their attempts to drive them out of business with their EV manadates and various "Clean Car Standards" in the state.
Some,
but not all, of those restrictions were thrown out last week when
congress invalidated the state's bid to create their own air pollution
standards. The state is now challenging the change of law in court.
The
two court psychopaths, SotoMayor and Brown Jackson, complained that the
court seems to be siding with "fuel interests" rather than the "rights
of ordinary citizens." I guess the idea that the court might support
the LAW, or that the peons might actually WANT or even NEED to buy fuel
to get to work, school, the doctor, etc. is foreign to them.
