In
the wake of that nasty wreck in Florida that killed three Florida
residents the feds are moving against several states that give
commercial truck driving licenses to illegal aliens with minimal to zero
command of the English language, including the inability to read normal
traffic signs.
The driver
in question made an illegal u-turn across three lanes of freeway in an
attempt to turn around in a "government vehicles only" passthru on the
center divider. He was arrested in Stockton and returned to Florida.
The Florida Lt. Governor flew into CA to take him into custody.
It
seems that the DOT does in fact have the legal authority to do this.
They have issued 30-day notices to several states, including CA, to pull
the commercial licenses of Undocumented Democrats, aka Illegal Aliens.
Gavin Newsom hasn't screamed TRUMP IS A RACIST. Yet.
EDITOR'S NOTE: 2.5 million - yes, that's 2.5 million - people have so far signed a petition supporting Harjinder Singh.
Bob, the trouble with your rant is that this tragedy involved an illegal immigrant, but there must be hundreds of truck drivers that are American citizens who have made, or will make similar illegal u-turns.
And you have no idea if Singh had "minimal to zero
command of the English language, including the inability to read normal
traffic signs." It just so happens that many Indians have a perfect command of the English language.
I admit I was surprised but all of the news reports I have seen that mentioned the issue specified that his command of English was very limited and he had very little ability to read English. I found that strange because I have worked with and otherwise dealt with a LOT of people from India and they spoke English (albeit English English and not American English) tolerably well and could read it just fine. Nevertheless unless a lot of news reports got it wrong (not impossible) I am inclined to believe it is correct.
ReplyDeleteAlso I don't think 2. 5 million people signed a WE LIKE HIM petition because they like the guy. I think it was more of a WE HATE TRUMP petition. My opinion, for what that might be worth.
