The fight between Donald Trump and Gavin Newsom is now
well and truly joined. Newsom wants VERY badly to be the next President
of the United States. He seems to think he can do it assuming he can
get the nomination. He is effectively a blind, incontinent three-legged
toy poodle. However at this stage all the other dogs in the
Democrat-Socialist are dead, so he is the front runner. He believes
that if he just continues to scream DONALD TRUMP IS EVIL, I HATE DONALD
TRUMP, VOTE FOR ME he will carry the day. He may be right. He sure as
shit can't run on his record.
To
no great surprise Proposition 50, Newsom's redistricting proposal, will
very likely be on the ballot. It WILL be on the ballot unless court
action unseats it. That is possible. There are significant legal
problems with the mechanism by which it was placed on the ballot.
NOBODY will say on the record who actually created the proposed map.
Thus far the state supreme court has declined to even look at the
issue. That may change when Steve Hilton initiates legal action this
week. He may also approach the federal courts for relief. The federal
courts often try to stay out of state election issues but since the
whole issue is to reapportion the House of Representatives they might
give it a go.
There are
only about nine weeks for this little drama to play out so with luck
things will move quickly enough to be interesting to watch.
