Jasmin Crockett, an outspoken Trump critic, has surfaced as a rising star in the Democratic Party since being elected in 2023. Al Green is pictured standing next to her. The president called her a 'very low-IQ person' earlier this year, adding that Democrats were 'in serious trouble' if the former public defender was 'their new star'
Firebrand Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett has been flooded with criticism after outrageously declaring that law enforcement is not meant to 'prevent' crime.
The Dallas Democrat went viral for her remarks during an interview on the Grounded podcast with former Montana Sen. Jon Tester and journalist Maritsa Georgiou.
'Law enforcement isn't [there] to prevent crime. Law enforcement solves crime. Okay?' the progressive congresswoman claimed during a discussion of the Trump administration sending federal troops to American cities.
'That is what they are supposed to do. They are supposed to solve crimes, not necessarily prevent them from happening, per se.'
The comments, which Crockett initially made last week, caught fire after airing on Fox News Monday.
On his show, host Will Cain tore into the liberal lawmaker, calling her 'always wrong, always certain, never in doubt.'
'Of course law enforcement's job is to solve crime and to prevent crime,' he said.
Many critics, including a longtime police officer, agreed.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Deon Joseph, a 25-year veteran of the force, responded by posting a nearly three-and-a-half minute video pushing back on the congresswoman's remarks
'This is exactly why Democrats are out of touch with reality. Families don't want politicians making excuses, they want SAFE streets. Preventing crime is the job,' one X user wrote.
'America can’t afford leaders who normalize chaos. It's time to put common sense back in power.'

'Jasmine Crockett is wrong. It is our job to prevent crime,' he wrote in the caption. 'We just need more support. I didn't sign up to just wait for people to be victimized.
He continued in the clip: 'As a police officer, I did not sign up to be an after-the-fact entity in the lives of people I serve.
'I did not sign up for that. I did sign up to prevent people from dying.'
Earlier in Crockett's interview, Tester had asked her how she felt about military Humvees being spotted in Chicago and federal troops being sent to Washington, DC.
'I think it's terrible,' the 44-year-old former civil rights attorney responded, noting that federal authorities are ill-equipped to handle police work.

The Trump administration announced on Monday it had begun detaining illegal immigrants all across Chicago as part of what's being called ‘Operation Midway Blitz.’ Despite rumors, soldiers have yet to be deployed. Pictured, Chicago police at the scene of a shooting Sunday
'You have a different type of designation because you have different training, because your mission is different,' Crockett argued.
'Local law enforcement, whether it's your local municipal police, your sheriff's deputies, your state troopers - they are trained completely differently.'
Crockett later said the main reason citizens of cities commit crimes is 'because they literally are trying to survive.'

As the midterms elections approach, the lawmaker has ramped up her podcast appearances and TV spots.
On CNN’s The Source Tuesday, she slammed Trump for criticizing evidence allegedly linking him to a lewd birthday note sent to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2003
'What do you make of the White House’s defense here?' CNN host Kaitlan Collins asked, after the administration claimed a signature on the note scrawled inside a sketch of a nude woman was fake.
'The fact that the president is a liar? He’s consistent,' Crockett replied. 'I mean, that’s all I really got for you.'
I guess Texas elects 'tards to public office just like CA does.
