Stacey Yerkes had it a bit rough
during her time with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She is both female
and gay. She was only the second female officer in the agency.
She
finally got tired of the constant harassment and bullshit and, in 2019,
filed a lawsuit against the agency alleging harassment and
discrimination.
She joined
up in 1994 and got consistently good performance reports. She made it
to Sergeant but continued to catch crap from many of her colleagues and
bosses.
In 2018 she
caught a beef for getting a tattoo. She alleges that NONE of the male
troopers have EVER been beefed for getting a tattoo. She then retired,
and filed her legal action.
The trial began on July 31. She has been awarded a total of $2.6 million in damages including back pay and "front pay."
Similar but just the opposite near here several years ago. Female harassing male subordinates. Motor boating them in the office and other inappropriate behavior some of it on video. Deputy was paid $500K.
