Larry Snelling, 54, formerly the head of the Chicago P D Counterterrorism Group has been picked by Mayor Brandon Johnson to be the HMFIC of the Chicago Police Department.

Snelling is a Chicago native and went to public schools on the south side, so he has some been-there, done-that time.  He has been with the department since 1992.
