Senior Airman Roger Fortson, who is Black (though that may have had nothing to do with this) was shot and killed in his own apartment by the local constabulary who may very well have hit the wrong apartment.

Fortson was on his computer doing a facetime chat thing with a young lady when his doorbell rang.  He checked it out, nobody there.  It happened again.  He checked thru the peep hole.  Nobody there.  It happened a third time.  He got his gat before he went to the door.  He opened the door with gun in hand.  The deputy, who did announced "Sheriff's Office" (it is on his body cam) fired without further warning, killing Fortson.

The Sheriff denies they hit the wrong apartment.  They were led to Fortson's apartment by a fellow apartment dweller who told the cops he heard a fight inside the apartment.  Forston was in fact alone, chatting on the computer.

Fortson enlisted out of high school and was attached to Special Operations Command out of Hurlburt.

It is unlikely in the extreme Fortson was in a fight in his apartment by himself.  Assuming he knew there was a cop on the other side of the door opening the door gun in hand was not a good move.  I am, however, unsure that shooting him down without warning was a good move either.

Are you blaming the victim? Doesn't matter who was on the other side of the door the man had a gun in his own home! The cops should be arrested and charged with manslaughter at the very least. This scenario has been in the news repeatedly over the years. The cops need to learn

Sadly, this sounds like a set up. I'm not sure of the correct term used for using the police to harass someone but it's not uncommon and it's dangerous. (USA)
