Almost two dozen men broke into Kumar Jewelers in Fremont, California in June 2025

Thieves stole almost $2 million worth of jewellery in just 70 seconds at a Californian shop.

Nearly two dozen masked and hooded thugs flooded Kumar Jewelers in Fremont, in a 'mob-style takeover'.

They arrived in a fleet of cars which screeched into the jeweller's car park before the thieves used pickaxes and hammers to break through glass display cases and stuffed loot into rucksacks.

A stolen Honda smashed down the store's door to begin the raid.

More than three-quarters of the jeweller's products - including gold and diamonds - were stolen, valued at around $1.7 million.

Two gunmen held a security guard hostage until the last thief left, after which the getaway cars sped off in different directions.

That meant police could only follow one of the cars and the rest were able to escape.

Though the raid happened in June 2025, the US Department of Justice has only now made the footage public.

TRUMP RESORTS TO WHAT HE DOES BEST ... NAME-CALLING FROM POCAHONTAS TO MAGGOT

Trump gives foul new nickname to New York Times journalist and he threatens to sue her

Maggie Haberman is the author of Confidence Man: The making of Donald Trump and the breaking of America

President Donald Trump is back with another attack hurled towards a female reporter.

In a Saturday Truth Social Post, Trump threw jabs this time at Maggie Haberman, a reporter for the New York times who covers the White House and has written a biography about the President.

Instead of calling her by her name, Trump changed 'Maggie' to 'Maggot,' in the post.

'Maggot Hagerman, just another SLEAZEBAG writer for The Failing New York Times, insists on writing false stories about me, even though she fully knows and understands that the exact opposite of anything she says is usually the truth,' Trump wrote in a Saturday Truth Social post.

'In any event, I'm thinking of adding Maggot, and some of her 'associates,' into my Florida based Lawsuit against The Times which, very happily, seems to be proceeding nicely,' he continued. 'Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT.' Trump added.

The Saturday remarks did not seem to be in response to any specific story or appearance by Haberman.

Trump is presently suing the Times for $15 billion for defamation. The original suit was dismissed last September, and then refiled in October for 2025.

Trump has clashed throughout both terms in office with top female reporters for both print and TV news outlets.

CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins recently drew Trump's ire during an exchange when she asked the President about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump told Collins to smile more during the exchange, which went viral and led to her appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The  33-year-old Collins recalled being taunted by Trump in the Oval Office earlier this month after she asked what he would say to Jeffrey Epstein's survivors.

'You know she's a young woman,' the president told a room of Republican lawmakers and reporters, then turned to Collins directly: 'I don't think I've ever seen you smile. I've known you for 10 years, I don't think I've ever seen you smile.'

She insisted at the time that it's hardly controversial to stay serious when asking about Epstein's sexual assault victims.

Collins told Colbert she wasn't surprised 'in the moment of attack,' as Trump regularly tries to 'deflect' from difficult questions, though she pushed back against his 'smile' jab.

'I don't think it's a controversial opinion that you shouldn't smile when you're asking questions about a sex trafficker and sexual assault victims,' she told Colbert.

The Late Show audience erupted in applause at her comment, and she added that she smiles, just 'when it's appropriate.'

She said this wasn't the first time Trump had resorted to name-calling or 'going after' her to avoid conversations about the convicted pedophile.

'He is someone who is often politically savvy or tied in with what his base wants. In that moment, I was thinking if he had said that in response to a different question, I think it would have had a different reaction,' Collins explained at the time.

Haberman and the Times were contacted for comment.

A Republican congressman has called for former Fox News star Tucker Carlson to be prosecuted for treason if federal investigators discover he was secretly working with the Iranian regime.

Representative Max Miller, of Ohio, made the demand one day after the 56-year-old broadcaster claimed the Department of Justice is gearing up to charge him with 'acting as an agent of a foreign power.'

He argued that CIA staffers may be targeting him for his criticism of Israel.

But Miller, who has described himself as a 'staunch defender of Israel,' accused Carlson of being a 'traitor' to the United States.

'Everyone has always known Tucker is in love with himself and happy to sell falsehoods for attention,' the congressman posted on X on Sunday.

'The Left excels at this, when Tucker finally joined them it was just sad.'

'Now? Treason,' Miller continued, arguing: 'If Tucker really worked with Iran against America's interests, he is a traitor and should be prosecuted.'

The penalty for a person found guilty of treason in the US is at least five years in jail, and a minimum fine of $10,000. No charges have yet been filed against Carlson.

Carlson said in a five-minute video that he may be prosecuted under the Foreign Agents Act, which requires anyone paid by foreign governments for political advocacy to register with the Justice Department.

'When you discover the CIA has been reading your texts in order to frame you for a crime,' Carlson posted on X, alongside the video.

'The CIA is preparing some kind of criminal referral against me, a crime report to the Department of Justice, on the basis of a supposed crime I committed,' he said in the video.

'What’s that crime? Well, talking to people in Iran before the war. They read my texts.'

But Carlson, who has publicly fought with the president after he called the Iran strikes 'evil,' said that he 'isn't worried' - adding that 'he does not expect' these potential 'charges' to go anywhere.

'I’m not an agent of a foreign power. Unlike a lot of people commenting on US politics and global affairs, I have only one loyalty and that’s the United States,' he said.

Carlson then went on to say he’s not concerned because he has 'never taken money' from a foreign nation, adding: 'Don’t need it, don’t want it.'

The conservative firebrand noted that he is American and that his job involves talking to people around the world.

'It's literally what I do for a living, and I'm not gonna stop that,' he said.

'Legally, I think the case is ludicrous, and I doubt it’ll even become a case.'

Carlson explained why he went public with his allegations, arguing that countries become 'more authoritarian' during wartime.

'It's just the nature of war, people are dying, the stakes are high,' he said. 'There's much less tolerance for any kind of dissent in the homeland.'

He also suggested that his stance on Israel may have made him a target of the CIA.

'[There are] some people who are mad at me for my views about Israel and they have some latitude.'

'One of the reasons they pass on criminal complaints in effect to law enforcement is to justify warrants for spying on Americans,' he added.

Carlson claimed the main reason this happens is to '"leak the investigation" to the media,' and to 'humiliate and terrorize the "subject of the operation."'

Carlson compared his claims to when he was at Fox News trying to arrange an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He said in 2021, the NSA 'grabbed his text messages' with another American citizen, and 'leaked' them to news outlets in an attempt to kill the interview.

'I'm not making this video to complain about it, or whine, or ask for money... I'm saying it because it's true, and you should know what your own government is doing.'

Carlson explained a few reasons why believes any charges would be bogus, saying he is 'not an agent of foreign power', while adding that his job involves speaking with people worldwide

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Department of Justice and Carlson for comment.

His remarks came after Donald Trump said he's kicking Carlson out of MAGA after he 'lost his way' in calling the president's Iran strikes 'evil.'

The two have been at odds over the attacks on Iran, but the conservative commentator went further than ever in an interview with ABC News.

'The president's decision was absolutely disgusting and evil,' said Carlson.

Trump responded by saying that 'Tucker's lost his way.'

'I knew that a long time ago, and he's not MAGA,' Trump told ABC News on March 5.

'MAGA is saving our country. MAGA is making our country great again. MAGA is America first, and Tucker is none of those things.

'And Tucker is really not smart enough to understand that.'

IF IN NOVEMBER THAT SCUMBAG PAXTON IS THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE FOR THE SENATE, MY CONSCIENCE WILL FORCE ME TO VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT

MAGA insiders go ballistic as they push Trump to DUMP Republican Senate candidate John Cornyn as challengers waste millions

The power of President Donald Trump's endorsement looms over a top US Senate race as Republicans are continuing to waste millions of dollars to pick their nominee in Texas.

After the primary election earlier this month, incumbent Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn is now in a one-on-one runoff against Ken Paxton, the state's scandal-plagued Attorney General.

Cornyn's campaign spent $69 million - a gigantic amount - compared to just $5 million spent by Paxton's camp, a warning sign that the incumbent's healthy cash reserves haven't been overwhelmingly decisive in the primary.

Cornyn also benefited from millions more in outside super PAC spending.

Initial rumors of a Cornyn endorsement in the runoff appear to have backfired for the Commander in Chief, as MAGA has since gone 'ballistic,' as characterized by Axios which notes that 'pro-Trump figures such as Laura Loomer, Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec' have all been boosting Paxton to appease the online MAGA base.

In a Saturday interview with NBC News, Trump responded 'I like him. I always liked him,' when asked  if he would be backing Cornyn.

Washington insiders are pulling for Trump to back Cornyn, as top voices both in the Lone Star State's grassroots circles as well as online are rooting for Paxton.

Hours after the primary concluded, Trump's advisers hinted that they expected him to choose Cornyn, who already holds the seat, and slightly outperformed the MAGA favorite Paxton in primary, and a Cornyn campaign aide told the Daily Mail last week: 'We will be the nominee.'

When asked if the White House confirmed that to the incumbent's campaign, the aide responded, at the time 'I didn't say that. We are going to win the primary runoff. One way or the other.'

Republicans fear a three-month long runoff fight will hurt the eventual nominee, and Trump joining that chorus hours after the primary.

'I will be making my Endorsement soon, and will be asking the candidate that I don't Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE!' the President announced last week. 'Is that fair? We must win in November!!!', he added.

At stake for Trump is whether he becomes a lame duck or the subject of impeachments and investigations, if Democrats take back control of Congress.

NBC additionally reported that Trump's pick has to do a lot with 'the SAVE America Act. A lot is going to determine — Republicans have to get that passed, because that will secure voting in this country.'

Paxton notably offered to entertain dropping out of his race under the condition that the SAVE Act, a voting security bill, was passed in Washington, DC.

'I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act,' Paxton offered in an X post earlier this month.

The Democrat primary resulted in a defined winner, as Texas State Representative  James Talarico defeated US Representative from Texas Jasmine Crockett.

Talarico, a 36-year-old state representative who gained traction through a savvy social media strategy, won by 52.4 percent to Crockett's 46.2 percent.

Asked by NBC if electability in November was a factor in Trump's endorsement in the GOP runoff, the President said, 'No, I think they both win.'

ISRAELI PILOTS TARGET IRANIAN THREATS TO US FORCES

There are cases in which Israeli pilots are assigned missions such as striking missile launchers aimed at US bases and assets in the region. In many cases, those targets also pose a threat to Israel.

EITHER THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT SHOWS THE COURAGE TO IMPLEMENT THE COMMITMENTS IT ACCEPTED UNDER THE NOVEMBER 27, 2024 CEASEFIRE TO DISARM HEZBOLLAH, OR ISRAEL WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SECURE SOUTHERN LEBANON ITSELF

Israel’s ultimatum on Hezbollah

The war in the north is no longer about deterrence. It is about whether Israel will finally dismantle Hezbollah’s military power in Southern Lebanon.

A PICTURE taken along the Israel-Lebanon border shows rockets being fired from southern Lebanon towards Israel on March 3, 2026.

Hezbollah launched around 200 rockets and 20 drones at northern Israel on March 11, 2026.

For the residents of northern Israel, the reality is one of constant fear. Sirens echo throughout the day. The roar of drones and missiles punctuates daily life. Families rush to shelters, children cannot attend school and parents struggle to maintain any semblance of normal work.

Ensuring security requires pushing Hezbollah away from the border—at least as far north as the Litani River. According to the ceasefire reached on Nov. 27, 2024, Hezbollah was supposed to halt the rebuilding of bases and weapons depots in that area, stop transferring missiles and drones and cease its attacks against Israel.

But the reality has proven otherwise.

Two weeks ago, Hezbollah—an essential pillar of Iran’s Shi’ite power in the region—entered the confrontation with Israel more directly, escalating tensions and further destabilizing the border.

Diplomacy could still play a role. A serious intervention by the Lebanese government—both political and military—might help contain the situation.

For this reason, Ron Dermer, one of Israel’s most experienced diplomats, has been called upon to assist. His deep knowledge and the appreciation he commands in Washington, where he served as Israel’s ambassador, make him a crucial bridge for the difficult decisions ahead.

This is a clear signal to the Lebanese government: either it shows the courage to implement the commitments it accepted under the Nov. 27, 2024, ceasefire to disarm Hezbollah, or Israel will have no choice but to secure Southern Lebanon itself.

It was the Biden administration that halted the broader war after the Hamas-led attacks of Oct. 7, a conflict that might otherwise have significantly reduced Hezbollah’s power.

Now, however, the Middle East is once again streaked with the trails of missiles—from both Iran and Hezbollah. The region stands on the brink of momentous decisions.

These decisions follow the strategic path adopted by Israel after Oct. 7, 2023. Initially, Israel attempted a strategy combining deterrence with diplomacy. But today Israel must confront openly declared jihadist ambitions to destroy the Jewish state through terror.

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has openly stated that the organization is prepared for a prolonged war.

Israel, in turn, is considering a ground operation aimed at pushing Hezbollah away from the border and dismantling its military infrastructure—its weapons depots, command centers and tunnels.

Reservists who only recently returned from the long war against Hamas have been called up once again. Already, there have been casualties and many wounded.

The Israeli military has urged civilians in southern Lebanon who are not involved in the fighting to evacuate. As many as a million people are on the move. At the same time, Israel is exercising caution regarding Lebanese state infrastructure that does not belong to Hezbollah; at Washington’s request, the Beirut airport is being spared.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has spoken of the need for “better preparation for new offensive and defensive scenarios.”

In Beirut’s Dahieh district—the stronghold of Hezbollah’s leadership—the skyline is once again marked by smoke. One building was struck twice.

There will be no agreement with Hezbollah. Israel’s objective is instead the dismantling of an organization that, since 1983, has spread violence across the Middle East and beyond—killing Americans and Israelis, carrying out attacks from Buenos Aires to Burgas, and saturating Israel with thousands of rockets and missiles.

The day after the Oct. 7 massacre, Hezbollah opened fire on northern Israel with rockets and artillery. The intention was clear: a deadly pincer designed to help destroy Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to confront Hezbollah directly—including the elimination of its longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah—was decisive.

Yet the Shi’ite hydra has many heads. Hezbollah remains deeply embedded within Iran’s regional network.

Israel now appears determined to confront this threat once and for all.

THOMAS FRIEDMAN UP TO HIS OLD HATE OF ISRAEL TRICKS

We agree, Tom Friedman. Give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize for Gaza

And then what? Hamas remains armed, and it still seeks to destroy Israel.

donald-trump-nobel-prize (1).

This is unusual. There is a rare agreement between the present authors and Thomas L. Friedman on Gaza, in particular, and Israel, in general. All three of us would welcome the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to U.S. President Donald Trump for his actions in Gaza. We are even in accord that he should do “the harder parts to come.” We only diverge on what is constituted by the latter.

What are the specifics? What is going on here? The New York Times man starts off strongly, complimenting Trump for “ … a geopolitical bank shot that had to bounce off—and simultaneously win the trust of … ” numerous Middle Eastern participants. We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.

But then, alas, Friedman goes off the rails. He states: “We are talking about full-scale nation-building in Gaza, which is almost completely destroyed, yet still home to some 2 million uprooted people.” These “uprooted people” were dancing in the streets on Oct. 8, 2023, in celebration, the day after the atrocity committed by their own democratically elected Hamas on over a thousand innocent Israelis.

Even apart from that, it is not at all clear as to why they deserve a nation, chock by jowl with Israel. Some say that God Himself awarded this land to Jews, not Arabs. We are not sufficiently studied in theology to have any opinion whatsoever on any such claim. Rather, we adhere to the John Lockean position that justified land titles should be awarded to those who first homestead to terrain in question. The Hebrews were there some 3,500 years ago, several millennia before the arrival of Friedman’s so-called “uprooted people.”

Yes, it cannot be denied, Trump’s 20-point plan calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza. But we are here after justice, not a blind-eyed adherence to a very good, albeit not perfect, plan. In any case, it called for the disarmament of Hamas, which blatantly has not occurred.

Why should Israel, then, be obligated to uphold its assigned role? Our editorialist maintains that “Trump will have to oversee the disarmament of Hamas … .” Please, do let us know when that occurs. In the view of this terrorist organization, that will take place only when a viable Palestinian state in Gaza occurs, when its members will presumably be free to join its national army. Meanwhile, its covenant, even watered down and amended, still calls for the eradication of it is pleased to call the Little Satan. Out of such sentiments do not good neighbors make. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is entirely within his rights to bitterly oppose any such incursion.

Friedman concedes that there is “an Israeli government that is deeply suspicious that Hamas will regroup.” You have heard of the expression “damning with faint praise.” This claim of our world-famous author is the understatement of the century. “Suspicious”? More likely fearful, afraid, infuriated, angered. Were the Jews merely “suspicious” of the Nazis? This man is the master of understatement.

Friedman’s next foray is this: “Trump told his cabinet Thursday with his usual penchant for exaggeration: ‘We ended the war in Gaza, and on a much bigger basis, created peace … hopefully, an everlasting peace in the Middle East.’ I sure hope he does not really believe that, because he will be working on Gaza for the rest of his presidency.”

If justice prevails, none of this will be true. Hamas has had more than enough time to disarm. Instead, they have not only continued to murder Israelis. They have also executed members of Palestinian clans who have had the temerity to attempt to take over some limited government functions in Gaza.

What should now occur is for the Israel Defense Forces to march in and end this all-too-long war that started on Oct. 7, 2023. Then, no one will have to be “working” on this until 2028. Here is a pithy quote that is very apropos: Netanyahu said, “If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more ‎violence. If the Jews put ‎down their weapons ‎today, there would be no ‎more Israel.”

This New York Times editorialist waxes eloquent over “… the possibility of a two-state solution under a totally new formula—one that combines Palestinian, Arab and international stewardship over Gaza’s future.”

Sure. Let us place the safety—the very existence—of the Jewish state in the hands of others than the IDF. These international entities can certainly be relied upon to safeguard Israel come hell or high water. Maybe the United States should give up its own military and rely upon its good neighbors, Canada and Mexico, to protect it from its enemies?

Opines Friedman: “… Israelis and Palestinians can no longer resolve their conflict alone. After the Gaza war, there is not a shred of trust left between them. The gears for collaboration are all stripped bare. They will need permanent U.S. and Arab guarantors for peace.”

My, the man sure has a way with a word. “Gears” and all, for goodness sake. The only reason this conflict has not yet been resolved is that Israel has not sufficiently pushed forward in compelling the surrender of Hamas. This is precisely how the Allies “resolved their conflict” with the Axis powers. This is precisely how the 13 colonies “resolved their conflict” with Great Britain. This is precisely how the Northerners “resolved their conflict” with the Southerners in 1865.

Nor can Friedman resist a bit of a salute to moral equivalence. He asserts: “In a region where few leaders do not have blood on their hands or political prisoners in jail (for advocating human rights) … .” This, of course, is a stab in the back at Israel. Netanyahu has “blood on his hands?” Yes, the blood of Hamas murderers. What about the women and children killed in the Gaza Strip? There is collateral damage in all wars. But who started this war on Oct. 7, 2023? Israel? Hamas? The Martians?

We will leave this multiple-choice quiz to Friedman. The damage to Gaza civilians in this case was enhanced by the evil practice of Hamas in using them as shields. They parked their military apparatus in hospitals and schools, something of which even the Nazis were not guilty.

Can we say that every Arab prisoner in an Israeli jail was actually guilty of the crime of which he was accused? No more than this applies to similarly civilized countries in the United States or Europe. But to equate this with Arab practices where murders (limited to Jews, of course) are given awards and pensions to their families, as does Friedman, is logical anathema.

Avers our New York Times man: “Bibi constantly sought to delegitimize the P.A. because he did not want a single moderate Palestinian negotiating body that could represent the Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza. That would immediately have led to global pressure to negotiate a two-state solution.”

He forgets something: the Palestinian Authority is also a terrorist organization. They, too, engage in “pay for slay” policies. We join Friedman; we have nothing against a second state for the Palestinians. Provided, only, that it is located where it can do little violence to Israel: perhaps near Norway somewhere, or in the midst of Australia; perhaps Canada.

In the opinion of Friedman: “ … in pursuing his scorched-earth policy in Gaza, Bibi told the world to get lost, Europe to get lost, Democrats to get lost, liberal American Jews to get lost, Israel’s Arab allies to get lost, even moderate Republicans to get lost.”

No, no, no. The problem with Netanyahu (we do not always support this hero) is that Gaza was not sufficiently “scorched.” The proof of the pudding is that Hamas is still in control. Only when they are forced to surrender and disband will sufficient “scorching” have been achieved. Germany, Italy and Japan at the end of World War II; that should be the goal of the IDF if their country is to be safeguarded. No more of this “resolving conflicts” nonsense. This is a war, not a game.

Friedman does not much like “Trump’s … first Gaza plan—a cockamamie plan to get all the Palestinians out of Gaza and turn it into a new Riviera.”

That was roughly the goal of Israel in 2005 when it banished its own citizens from Gaza. It was characterized more in terms of making that sad corner of the world into a Hong Kong of the Middle East rather than a Riviera. But that is a difference with no real distinction. For all intents and purposes, ever since Hamas conquered the P.A. in 2007, there was in effect a second Palestinian state on the western border of Israel. Did that “country” build houses? Hotels? Desalination plants? Factories? Possibly, schools? Maybe farms? No. They focused on tunnels, out of which came suicide bombers. On terrorism. On rocket launching pads.

We read in this missive: “Trump has established … ‘that there will be no unilateral annexations in Gaza or the West Bank; that an upgraded and reformed Palestinian Authority will be the self-governing body of the Palestinians in the West Bank and, in the future, in Gaza.’”

Friedman is a bit too free with that word “established.” “Suggested” would be far more accurate. As would be “urged,” or recommended,” “supported” or “advised.”

Is Israel, or is it not, a sovereign nation? It is not the 51st state of America. Therefore, Trump, the well-meaning and absolutely the best friend Israel has ever had from the U.S. presidency, cannot “establish” any such thing.

Trump Invokes Defense Production Act for California Offshore Oil

The Trump administration on Friday invoked the Defense Production Act to boost oil production off Southern California's coast as it looks to contain oil prices sent soaring by the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

Global prices have surged above $100 a barrel, the highest since 2022, driven by significant supply disruption fears following the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran and threats to the Strait of Hormuz.

The Defense Production Act, a Korean War–era law enacted in 1950, gives the president broad authority to direct private industry to prioritize and produce materials deemed essential for national defense and emergency preparedness.

The law allows the federal government to require companies to accept government contracts ahead of other orders, allocate scarce resources, and provide financial incentives to expand production of critical goods ranging from military equipment to energy infrastructure and medical supplies.

It has been invoked by multiple administrations during national crises, including wars, natural disasters, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Secretary of Energy Chris Wright told Sable Offshore to restart work at the Santa Ynez Unit and Santa Ynez pipeline "to address supply disruption risks caused by California policies that have left the region and U.S. military forces dependent on foreign oil," the Energy Department said in a statement.

The Santa Ynez Unit and Santa Ynez pipeline system have been points of contention in California. The Santa Ynez offshore platforms were shut down in 2015 after an oil spill, but the company has since restarted production at one of them.

A state judge last year ruled against the Houston-based company's request to lift a cease-and-desist order on repairs it had made to an onshore pipeline system.

The Obama Foundation is looking for 100 unpaid volunteers to work alongside the former president's highly paid cronies at the $850 million Obama Presidential Center in Chicago when it opens in June.

Officials are pitching the no-paycheck gigs as rooted in former President Barack Obama’s legacy of civic engagement. The recruitment campaign comes after Fox News Digital reported that the organization’s CEO, former top Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, was paid $740,000 in 2024.

Foundation officials told Fox News Digital the volunteers will complement about 300 full- and part-time employees at the long-delayed center, which the organization is promoting as a $3.1 billion economic catalyst for the Windy City's South Side.

The new program will have 75 to 100 volunteers, known as "ambassadors," greet and direct visitors around the campus and share information about exhibits at the 22-story museum tower, athletic center and Chicago Public Library branch, among other amenities. It is expected to expand in the future.

The foundation describes the volunteer program as a key component of its mission, saying volunteers represent its values both onsite and in the community.

It is unclear what the salary range for those paid workers will be. However, the foundation’s most recent tax filings provide insight into compensation at the organization’s senior levels.

Federal filings viewed by Fox News Digital show Jarrett made $740,000 in 2024, 2023 and 2022, while several former Obama White House officials have collected six-figure salaries as foundation executives.

Total salaries and benefits at the foundation climbed from $18.5 million in 2018 to $43.7 million in 2024 as staffing expanded to 337 employees and annual revenue reached nearly $210 million, according to the filings. The foundation’s main office is located in Chicago’s Hyde Park, where it runs leadership and community programs in the U.S. and abroad.

Still, the foundation is looking to have a cohort of unpaid volunteers help out at the new presidential center. It's common for presidential libraries, museums and nonprofit cultural institutions to employ unpaid volunteers.

"Volunteerism has been central to President Obama’s vision of civic life since his earliest days as a community organizer on Chicago’s South Side," the foundation said in a press release.

Jarrett, one of the Obamas’ closest advisors, said in a statement that the center will be "a place where the world meets the best of the city of Chicago, and our volunteers will help bring that vision to life every day."

She became CEO in 2021 and is overseeing development of the 19.3-acre campus in Jackson Park.

The foundation has promoted the center as a catalyst for economic revitalization on Chicago’s South Side, citing $3.1 billion in projected economic activity over 10 years and 5,000 construction jobs tied to the $850 million campus. Those figures come from an economic assessment conducted by Deloitte Consulting LLP.

According to the foundation, more than 50% of construction contracts have been awarded to diverse firms, 33% of the construction workforce has come from South and West Side communities and 798 residents have enrolled in construction pre-apprenticeship programs.

The center is scheduled to open on Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

Other former Obama administration officials have also earned substantial compensation at the foundation in past years, including former White House political director David Simas, who made more than $600,000 annually while leading the organization from 2017 to 2020, and Adewale Adeyemo, who later became Biden’s deputy Treasury secretary and made roughly $540,000 during his tenure.

Several other senior leaders with Obama administration ties have earned between roughly $300,000 and $400,000 annually, according to tax filings.

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is deploying the USS Tripoli and thousands of military service members to the Middle East after President Trump vowed Friday to unleash “unparalleled firepower” on the “deranged scumbags” leading Iran.

The deployment of the amphibious assault ship comes as the American military admits it’s currently unable to break Iranian influence over the vital Strait of Hormuz as global oil prices spike.

The expected two-week voyage from East Asia matches Energy Secretary Chris Wright’s prediction of reopening the crucial waterway.  “by the end of the month”.

The repositioning of the Tripoli, which resembles an aircraft carrier but is smaller and operates closer to shore, was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The precise scale of the deployment is unclear.

The Journal reported that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth authorized the use of an element of an amphibious ready group and attached Marine expeditionary unit, typically consisting of several warships and 5,000 Marines and sailors.”

Fox News chief national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin confirmed the deployment, but reported that approximately 2,500 Marines are part of the repositioning.

The Japan-based Tripoli was spotted sailing alone south of Taiwan on Thursday, the US Naval Institute reported — leaving it unclear whether it will be joined by the USS San Diego and USS New Orleans, large ships known as amphibious transport docks that comprise the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group.

Similar naval deployments foreshadowed the opening salvo of the Iran war on Feb. 28.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group arrived in the Arabian Sea south of Iran in late January, and the USS Gerald R. Ford departed the Greek island of Crete for the eastern Mediterranean Feb. 26, two days before the initial attack.

The Trump administration’s prior military missions featured an element of surprise — including deceptions about the likely timeframe before the president ordered an attack on three Iranian nuclear sites this past June.

After Trump ordered the daring Jan. 3 US special forces raid on Caracas to arrest socialist strongman Nicolas Maduro, he said that the armada offshore was a hint about what was coming.

In addition to reopening the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world’s petroleum flows, officials reportedly studied seizing Iran’s Kharg Island, the loading site for about 90% of the Islamic Republic’s oil exports.

Trump told Fox News Radio in an interview that aired Friday that Kharg Island was not currently a priority — but that his mind could change.

“It’s not high on the list, but it’s one of so many different things, and I can change my mind in seconds,” Trump told host Brian Kileamde. “I can’t answer a question like that … You shouldn’t be even asking it.”

The two-week conflict hasn’t impacted the island, with Iran exporting more fuel than before the war started, the Journal reported Tuesday

The Pentagon declined to confirm the Tripoli’s deployment, with an official telling The Post: “Due to operational security, we do not discuss future or hypothetical movements.”Meanwhile, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll confirmed in an interview Friday that his branch of the armed forces had sent 10,000 interceptor drones used against Russian forces in Ukraine to counter Iranian strikes targeting American military positions as well as civilians in Israel and Arab states.

Driscoll told Bloomberg News in an interview that the AI-enabled Merops drones, developed by Project Eagle — a defense venture backed by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt — were sent to the Middle East within five days of the start of Operation Epic Fury.

Merops drones cost about $14,000 to $15,000 each, according to Bloomberg, cheaper than Iran’s notorious Shahed drones, which run at least $20,000 per unit.

“We’re actually on the better end of the cost curve there,” Driscoll told the outlet. “So each time Iran launches one that we are able to take down, they are losing a meaningful amount of money.”

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered to assist the US and its Arab partners in shooting down the Iranian drones that have rattled the region, an offer that Trump dismissed in his Fox News Radio interview.

“No, we don’t need their help on drone defense,” he said. “We know more about drones than anybody. We have the best drones in the world, actually.”

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has now labelled both Russia and China 'strategic partners'

Iran finally admitted last night that it is receiving military support from Russia and China.

Top American officials had claimed that Russia was behind Iran's knowledge of sensitive intelligence, such as the precise locations of US warships.

This was reportedly denied by Vladimir Putin during a call with President Donald Trump.

But Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has now labelled both Russia and China 'strategic partners'.

And when asked whether they were providing military support and intelligence, he replied: 'We have had close co-operation [with Russia and China] in the past, which is still continuous, and that includes military co-operation. But I'm not going into any details of that.'

Much of the alleged shared information has been imagery from Moscow's complex constellation of satellites, a source said.

While it is not clear whether any single Iranian assault can be linked to Russian targeting intelligence, several drone strikes have hit US troops in recent days.

Reports also claim that the US has obtained intelligence which suggests China may soon provide Iran with financial assistance, spare parts for military vehicles and missile components.

It was last week alleged that the state-of-the-art Chinese spy ship Liaowang-1 was seen in the Strait of Hormuz.

One specialist has previously called the vessel a 'floating supercomputer... to map the invisible battlefield'.

China relies heavily on Iranian oil and has reportedly been pressuring Tehran to allow safe passage for vessels through the Strait.

One source has said China wants the war to end because it 'endangers its energy supply'.

GOD BLESS TED CRUZ ..... AND DAMN THE GROYPERS

Ted Cruz sparks outrage as he claims the phrase 'Christ is King' is antisemitic

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, at the Capitol on July 14, 2022.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said that the phrase 'Christ is King' was being used to insult and attack Jews

Texas Senator Ted Cruz sparked backlash after claiming that the phrase 'Christ is King' has taken on an antisemitic meaning.

The Republican lawmaker said he had become 'really troubled' by how the phrase was supposedly being used to call Jews 'horrible.'

'I agree with the statement Christ is King,' Cruz told CBN News. 'Although it is being used online in a way that is meant to say, "screw you, Jew."'

He added that the phrase was sometimes used 'very directly to say, "I hate Jews"' and noted that it is being used in right-wing nationalist circles.

'They're attacking Jews and they end with "Christ is King" to make it sound like somehow there's a biblical basis for attacking Jews,' he said.

Cruz, who is a Southern Baptist Christian, added that he wasn't aware of the phrase being used growing up in his religious community and suggested alternatives such as 'Jesus loves you'.

His remarks sparked outrage on social media, as commenters insisted the phrase was faith–based and vowed to keep using it.

Alex Bruesewitz, an adviser to Donald Trump during his last election campaign, was among those to slam the Texas Senator.

'It's not "antisemitic" to say that Christ IS King,' Bruesewitz wrote on X. 'It's the truth.'

Cruz explained he had asked his pastor from Houston's First Baptist Church about the phrase because he was concerned about possible connotations.

'That's almost an online code word,' Cruz said. 'Christ is King is, "I hate the Jew".'

But that claim was rejected by social media commenters, who flatly dismissed the Texas Republican's interpretation.

'We say Christ Is King because he is,' one user said. 'If that's offensive, that's the hearer's problem, not the speaker.'

One user wrote that Cruz was 'now showing how bigoted he is against Christians by denying that Jesus Christ is our one and only King!'

'Soon he will declare Christianity antisemitic,' another added.

'If "Christ is King" makes you feel attacked in any context, it's because you have a problem with Christ being King,' one person wrote.

'Man, this guy [is] the biggest phony Christian of all time,' another user added.

Cruz said he never heard the phrase at church while growing up, proposing other alternatives.

'We would say things like "Jesus loves you, Jesus saves",' Cruz said.

The GOP lawmaker added that 'Christ is King' appeared to have originated from the internet.

'Christ is King is a phrase that seems to have originated online,' Cruz said. 'It summoned kind of the groyper folks. It almost sort of invokes images of the crusade that in the name of Jesus, we will conquer everyone else in a way that I don't think is right or biblical. '

Groypers are a loose network of far-right activists and internet trolls, many of whom are fans of provocateur Nick Fuentes.

In recent years, the phrase 'Christ is King' has at times appeared at political rallies, social media posts and speeches by right-wing figures.

Some conservative influencers, including Candace Owens, have also popularized the phrase and sold branded merchandise.

Owens, a right-wing political commentator, has previously shared antisemitic conspiracies.

Cruz was being asked about podcasters who 'say one thing out of their mouths that's very, not just anti-Israel, but anti-Semitic' when he shared his views about the phrase.

A 2025 report by the Rutgers University-affiliated Network Contagion Research Institute said that 'Christ is King' was being 'weaponized' towards Jews and being used to spread antisemitic narratives.

At a February 9 hearing of the Religious Liberty Commission - a federal advisory body formed by US President Donald Trump - witness Seth Dillon testified that people often followed the phrase with contemptuous slurs towards Jews.

Like Cruz, Dillon claimed the phrase had been co-opted by groypers. He said it was 'using the Lord's name in an abusive manner.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to Cruz's office for comment.
