Regular readers will remember I wrote recently about a
woman who was murdered late last year at Mule Creek State Prison just
outside of Ione in California. She was murdered during a "family visit"
by her husband, who was a four-time murderer doing LWOP X 4 + 20
years. It turns out there was another, similar, earlier murder at the
same prison.
The earlier
murder happened on July 1 of last year. The dead woman was Tania
Thomas, 47. Since she was alone in the conjugal visiting unit with her
husband Anthony Curry, 48, it seems very likely that he murdered her.
The death was ruled a homicide in December and referred to the Amador
County District Attorney. She had been strangled.
Curry
has been a guest of the people since July 2008, doing LWOP for
attempted second degree murder with various enhancements. He was also
doing a term of 13 years for carjacking with assorted enhancement.
