When Kamilah Brock insisted a BMW belonged to her, NY cops had the “delusional” black woman taken to a psych ward where she was locked up for eight days
A NY cop stopped a black woman driving a 2003 BMW 325CI at a Harlem traffic light on September 12, 2014 for driving without her hands on the steering wheel. He took Kamilah Brock, 32, to the 30th precinct station where she was kept for several hours before being released without any charges. She was told to come back the next day to pick up her car.
When she returned the next day to pick up her car, the cops asked her what kind of car it was. She replied it was a BMW. The cops looked at her in disbelief and made her wait for some time before she was cuffed and thrown in the psych ward at Harlem Hospital. The “delusional” woman was kept there for eight days during which she was forcibly injected with strong sedatives and made to swallow doses of lithium. When she was finally released, she was presented with a hospital bill for $13,000.
Kam Brock filed a lawsuit against the city, the hospital and unnamed officers that is moving forward through a federal court. She claims that her constitutional rights under the Fourth and 14th Amendments were violated and that she suffered "unwanted and unwarranted intrusion of her personal integrity, loss of liberty [and] mental anguish."
The city responded to the lawsuit by claiming that Brock was put in the psych ward because she was "acting irrational, she spoke incoherently and inconsistently, and she ran into the middle of traffic on Eighth Ave.”
So, who are you going to believe? I have a strong feeling that Kam is telling the truth. If she is, this is racial profiling at its worst – a black woman can’t possibly own a BMW, even one that is 12 years old.
If there are any nutters in this case, it's the cops and the psych doctors at Harlem Hospital.

Really? Where did this story come from? The blog doesn't say. I suspect it's from some liberal rag that is quick to discredit the police any chance they get.
A 12 year old BMW is nothing special. I think there is more to this story and I'll bet the woman's attorney only told the press what he wanted them to know. Some folks eat that stuff up.
This should be easy to dispute. Most if not all police buildings, especially the lobby are videoed. Even the entrance to the building would show bizarre behavior such as running in the middle of traffic.
But to write,

This is disparaging to the police and doctors, who I doubt conspired to be Racial Profilers.

One thing that leads me to believe she's telling the truth, is that she was released one day and then taken to the hospital the next day when she came to pick up her car.
