Ms. Laughlin is running an interesting proactive defense. Her lawyers are now asserting that the FBI has recordings and/or documentary evidence that support the notion that Ms. Laughlin's actions in the college entrance scandal were in fact honest mistakes and misunderstandings and NOT an act or acts in conspiracy to commit fraud, bribery or other nastiness. She further asserts the Feebs are deliberately sitting on this evidence in violation of law.
Two years ago, this would have been laughed out of court. Today, maybe not. Hell, it might even be true.

I'm glad Lori Laughlin is fighting the charges. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. As the trial progresses it will uncover additional schemes used by the rich to place their kids in prestigious universities.
1. People can buy as good an education as they can afford.
2. People can buy as much justice as they can afford.
3. It's not what you know, but who you know.
4. I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine.
All the above colloquialisms apply.
