Donald Trump launched a furious all-caps assault on House Democrats Wednesday as Speaker Nancy Pelosi opened debate on the articles of impeachment, accusing them of 'atrocious lies.'
'SUCH ATROCIOUS LIES BY THE RADICAL LEFT, DO NOTHING DEMOCRATS. THIS IS AN ASSAULT ON AMERICA, AND AN ASSAULT ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!!!,' he wrote on Twitter.
Pelosi, meanwhile, said the president gave them no choice but to impeach him, receiving a standing ovation from her Democratic lawmakers in the process.
EDITOR’S NOTE: I’ve said several times that Trump’s phone call to the president of the Ukraine was dumb, improper and wrong. But being dumb, improper and wrong are not crimes and high misdemeanors. And using his executive privilege in forbidding staff members to appear before little Adam Schitt’s kangaroo court is not an obstruction of congress. Hence, there were never any grounds for impeachment which is really a Democratic ploy to undo the 2016 election.
I watched part of the impeachment proceedings Wednesday in the House. All the Democrats said Trump is bad while all the Republicans said the Democrats are bad.
My word to the Democrats is: Get over it! Accept the fact that Trump defeated crooked Hillary.
