To no great surprise President Trump told Jerry Nadler that he would NOT be appearing before his kangaroo court committee. It is obvious that the house wants desperately to impeach Trump (but are afraid of the secondary consequences). Trump would have zero gain from appearing, so if you can't gain the only thing you can do is lose. Why take the chance?
Public support for impeachment is dropping. It dropped 6% during the last week of the last round of hearings. That is while the hearings were actually running. Unless some real (as opposed to fake, media created) bombshell shows up what they have is what they have. There are now at least two KNOWN Democrat defectors. There will likely be more before the dust settles. If it comes to a vote it still seems very likely, almost a sure thing, that the house would vote a bill of impeachment.
Sorry Howie, but I still think there is a real possibility the house will snivel out, vote a bill of censure, and walk away with a small win. I might be wrong, in fact I am probably wrong. But I think the possibility is there and is not far-fetched.
