The talking heads were asserting today that Trump's peeps
have gotten in touch with DeSantis' peeps and suggested that DeSantis
would make a great VP for Trump. Actually there is a lot to be said for
it. They could not beat each other up, which would be good for the
party and the ticket. They would make a formidable team. If they
didn't blow the place up it would give DeSantis a good set-up for 2028
were he could dangle #2 in front of Nicki Haley or Christie Noem.
It
might not happen but it looks like maybe a good idea. I would NOT have
guessed at this happening but (allegedly) it is Trump's idea. One or
the other of them would have to move but for Trump that wouldn't exactly
be a hardship. Also when push came to shove DeSantis would have to
resign as he can not by Florida law run for another office while holding
his current one.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Wishful thinking! It'll never happen. Being governor of Florida is much more beneficial to DeSantis than being hidden away as VP.

Nobody but a mental defective WANTS to be VP, but it can be a useful stepping stone for higher office. You could ask Bush 41 if he was still around. Or Gerald Ford.
