A short while ago (I am not sure how short) a V.A.
deputy undersecretary issued a memorandum directing that the iconic
photograph known as THE KISS from Times Square on V-J Day in 1945 must
be REMOVED from V.A. facilities because the nurse did not consent to
be kissed by the sailor before he kissed her. The memo was issued
because the non-consensual act was inconsistent with some goddamn thing
or other that the Deputy Undersecretary thought was important.
The
Secretary of the V.A. reversed the decision as soon as he heard of
it. He should have fired the asshole that issued the memo as well, but
probably didn't.
