The CA state Republican party filed a federal lawsuit
this morning in an attempt to enjoin the Prop 50 maps from being used.
The suit cites the 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution of the
United States as the causes of action. There is already an action
before SCOTUS along similar lines out of Louisiana.
There
is actually some time pressure because people running for congress in
2026 will start getting into filing and residence issues beginning in
about six or eight weeks.
