Russia's paramilitary Wagner Group plans to provide advanced anti-aircraft defense systems to Hezbollah for deployment near Israel's northern border, according to a new report.

Wagner is sending the Hezbollah the Russian SA-22 Greyhound system, which uses surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery to intercept aircraft, two US officials told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

Hezbollah, a US-designated terror group backed by Iran, has been exchanging fire with Israeli forces across the country's northern border while Israel wages a ground and air war against Hamas in the southern enclave of Gaza.

New air defense systems could escalate tensions further in the north, and Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder told the Journal that the report was 'very concerning' if true, while saying he had no information to share on the subject.

Russia's embassy in DC and a spokeswoman for the US National Security Council did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com on Thursday night.

One official told they Journal that it wasn't clear whether the anti-aircraft system had already been delivered, but officials said they were monitoring talks between Wagner and Hezbollah, and considered the issue one of major concern.  

Wagner Group, which launched a failed mutiny against Russian leader Vladimir Putin in June, is a state-financed private military company previously led by Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Prigozhin died in a plane crash in August, in what US intelligence assessed was a likely a Russian-backed assassination, and his 25-year-old son Pavel Prigozhin has reportedly taken command of the organization.

The Greyhound anti-aircraft system, a NATO designation for what Russia calls the Pantsir-S1, could give Hezbollah advanced capabilities to repel Israeli aircraft, cruise missiles, and precision munitions.

The system consists of a missile launcher, radar truck, and command post, and is designed for point air defense against manned and unmanned aircraft, as well as some missiles.

Delivery of the system could raise tensions on Israel's northern border, where Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops have been exchanging fire with Hezbollah.

Israel, which has launched a ground assault against Hamas in Gaza, hopes to avoid opening a second front in the war on its northern border. 

The US has positioned the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group in the Eastern Mediterranean in a bid to deter Iran and Hezbollah from further aggression.

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier and its strike group are also in the Eastern Mediterranean, and are expected to transit the Suez Canal this weekend on its way to the Middle East.

On Thursday, there was a major escalation along the Lebanon-Israel border with Hezbollah attacking Israeli positions with drones, mortar fire and suicide drones.

Hezbollah reportedly attacked 19 Israeli posts along the border, including one that was struck with two suicide drones. 

The Israeli military said it had retaliated with warplanes and helicopter gunships on Hezbollah command centers, arms depots and sites from where the rockets were fired.

Two people were injured after rockets fired from Lebanon hit the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona, Israeli medical services said.

Videos released by the fire department and circulating on social media showed a street ablaze, a wrecked car and a damaged building in the town that had been mostly evacuated at the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war.

Lebanon's state-run National News Agency also said four civilians were killed on Thursday in an Israeli bombardment of the Saluki Valley region, a border area in southern Lebanon.

The latest deaths raise to 10 the number of civilians killed on the Lebanese side of the border since tension began to rise there following the October 7 Hamas attack in southern Israel, which left 1,400 Israelis dead.

Israel has responded with relentless airstrikes in Gaza, which the enclave's Hamas-run heath authority say have now killed more than 9,000 people, including many children. Hamas does not distinguish between civilians and combatants in casualty figures.

The IDF on Thursday continued to expand its ground war against Hamas in Gaza, where around 240 hostages were taken from Israel into Gaza by the militant group.

President Biden wants a pause so it would provide time to get captives out of Gaza.

 

The White House is preparing to push Israel for a lull in its military operations so that civilians can leave Gaza and aid can go in.

Almost four weeks after Israel sealed off the Palestinian enclave in response to Hamas terrorists killing 1400 people, calls are growing for a full ceasefire or at least a 'humanitarian pause' to alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

John Kirby, White House national security spokesman, told reporters Thursday that any such temporary cessation would not affect Israel's ability to defend itself.

'What we're trying to do is explore the idea of as many pauses as might be necessary to continue to get aid out and to continue to work to get people out safely, including hostages,' he said during the White House daily briefing.

He spoke soon after President Joe Biden announced that dozens of American citizens had been able to flee the Gaza Strip.

'74 U.S. citizens with dual citizenship have left the Gaza Strip,' he said.

Philadelphia's Amtrak train station was overrun by hundreds protesters calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza on Thursday evening - as war continues to rumble on in the Middle East. 

Police initially set up barricades near 30th Street Station in anticipation of the protesters - who ended up storming inside and initiating their own sit-in after blocking the entrance on the sidewalk. 

Hundreds of demonstrators flooded inside the Amtrak station - which is Philadelphia's largest - stopping commuters in their tracks, just before 7.30pm. 

Local agencies said the main entrance to 30th Street Station was temporarily closed because of the protests, and passengers were told to enter through the side entrance on the northwest of the station.

The rally tonight was led by members of Jewish Voice for Peace-Philadelphia, the Philly Palestine Coalition, and IfNotNow Philadelphia.

Police were allegedly seen making arrests at the demonstration, and they loaded some of the people on to a bus, according to CBS.  

Dani Noble of Jewish Voice for Peace told NBC10 ahead of Thursday's rally: 'We need an outcry from the faith-based community. From people who care about the lives and dignity of all people. 

'And we have seen so many communities coming together and doing just that and crying out for a ceasefire. Crying out for the end to genocide against Palestinians.'

Philadelphia Police said ahead of the rally: 'We are closely monitoring the situation in Israel and Gaza and are working collaboratively with our local, state, and federal partners to stay informed.

'We remain vigilant and prepared for any situation that may arise.'

Jason Holtzman, the director of the Jewish Community Relations and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, said: 'We mourn the loss of all civilian lives and it deeply pains me and deeply pains the Jewish community that innocent Palestinian civilians are being caught up in the crossfire and our becoming casualties of war.

'Until that organization [Hamas] backs down and dedicates itself to surrendering and living peacefully next to Israel, there should be no cease-fire, no pause in hostility.' 

Currently, there are no delays on Amtrak.  

Since Hamas slaughtered over 1,000 Jews on October 7, riots and protests have exploded across cities and college campuses in the US. 

Thousands of people gathered in Washington DC on October 18 - and as many as 300 were arrested inside the Capitol. 

Last Friday, at least 200 pro-Palestine and Jewish protestors were arrested in NYC after storming Grand Central to demand a ceasefire - as Israel launched an 'unprecedented' bombing campaign on Gaza and stepped up ground operations.

The group describe themselves as being the 'largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization in the world' predominantly consisting of people from the Jewish faith.

Protestors at the 'historic sit-in' on the main concourse of the iconic Manhattan station could be heard chanting: 'No more weapons, no more war. Ceasefire is what we're fighting for.'

Other footage also showed a large crowd attempting to enter the station but being held back by NYPD officers trying to subdue the situation.

Signs were hung around the concourse, with one reading: 'Palestinians should be free.'

Others said: 'Mourn the dead, and fight like hell for the living' and another called for an immediate ceasefire in the region.

Jewish Voice for Peace issued a statement on their intended protest, saying: 'In the last two weeks, over 7,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis were killed.

'Every bomb dropped on Gaza threatens the lives of 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza and 200 Israeli hostages. The only way to save lives [is] through an immediate ceasefire.'

Subsequent videos emerged showing officers attempting to disperse the crowds inside the station, as well as some people being escorted out in handcuffs.

The New York Police Department said at least 200 people had been arrested, while protest organizers put the number at more than 300.

The Big Apple, which has the biggest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel, has been a hotbed for protests since the conflict started earlier this month.

Earlier Thursday, thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched from Wall Street to City Hall to protest against U.S. weapons manufacturers and investment companies and dozens of others have raged across the country and world.

Mayor Eric Adams said on Thursday that 233 people have been arrested at the over 100 protests and rallies held in the city.

An Israeli first responder to the October 7 terror attack has claimed that Hamas terrorists roasted a baby in an oven in shocking video testimony.

Asher Moskowitz, of the United Hatzalah first responder group, published a video of himself speaking to a camera, delivering his witness account.

In it, he claims he saw the remains of a baby who had been baked to death in an oven at kibbutz Kfar Aza, where more than 100 civilians were killed.

'The sights that we saw were horrendous,' he says, explaining that he was among a group that saw corpses arriving for identification in the aftermath of the attack.

'My name is Asher Moskowitz, UH333, deputy head of the Elad branch and an active member of our holy work of saving lives,' he says, introducing himself. He is shown with his back to a door, wearing a yellow high-vis police vest.

'On the fourth day of the war, I visited the Shura base. I came to ensure the medical care of the families who were told to get information about the fate of their loved ones and were given a place outside the base to wait.'

He then says that during the day, his group were told five or six trucks with many bodies from Kfar Aza were due to arrive 'that were unfortunately horribly disfigured with severe injuries, including people who were burned alive.'

He continues: 'We went to the base to lend a hand and help.

'I, as a volunteer member of the Achi, which is the Zaka branch of the police, came with a few friends and we assisted and carried dozens of bodies from the trucks to the identification rooms inside the base.

'The sights that we saw were horrendous. We saw dozens of scorched bodies so severe that the coroners said it would be difficult to identify them, and luckily they had DNA samples to use for identification.

'As we continued our work, to our great chagrin, we also carried off the rucks small bags with body parts, really small bags.

'Among them,' he says, 'was a small bag which we assumed held either body parts or the body of a baby and we put it in one of the rooms there.

Continuing, he says: 'As they opened the bag there was a gruesome sight, what appeared to be a baby.' He said the 'body was really swollen [and had] what looked like a heating element attached.

'They told us afterwards, after we left the room and they had worked on the body to identify it [that] after the terrorists murdered the parents in a very gruesome way at home, they then took the baby and literally put him into the kitchen oven.

'While the baby was still alive they put him into the oven and they cooked the baby alive,' he claims. 'The body was burned and unfortunately, as far as I could see, the body became swollen as a result [a] heating element of the oven became attached to the body itself. 

'We must show the world these gruesome sights and to tell the world that it impossible to deny what these savages did,' he says.

Moskowitz's testimony is the latest in a series of gruesome claims from Israel and Israelis over the barbaric actions of Hamas terrorists on October 7.

 

Eli Beer, the head of Israel's volunteer EMS squad United Hatzalah, earlier had claimed Hamas terrorists cut an unborn baby from a mother, stabbed it, and put it in an oven. 'These bastards put these babies in an oven and put on the oven,' he said.

 

Previous accusations against the terror group have included the beheading of babies and the killing of pregnant mothers.

Earlier this week, the head of Israel's volunteer EMS squad Eli Beer made a similar claim to that of Moskowitz's, saying Hamas terrorists cut an unborn baby from a mother, stabbed it, and put it in an oven.

'We saw a little baby in an oven,' he told a  crowd at the Republican Jewish Coalition in the United States. 'These bastards put these babies in an oven and put on the oven. We found the kid a few hours later.'

Last month, Israel released harrowing images of tiny babies the country said had been murdered and burned by Hamas gunmen.

One appalling image shows the small body of a baby, who couldn't be more than 12 months old, lying on a now bloodied white body bag that is too large for it. 

The little child's baby grow dotted with flowers is covered in blood after the rampaging terrorists unleashed horrors that defy belief.

Another two photographs released by Israel show the blackened and charred bodies of two babies who were murdered when they stormed their homes. Their bodies are so disfigured it's impossible to make out where their arms and legs would have been.

MailOnline chose to publish heavily blurred versions of the images to show the horrors that Hamas terrorists unleashed on hundreds of Israelis after they stormed over the border from Gaza on Saturday.

The release of the images came as apparently verified photographs of other babies beheaded by the ruthless terrorists in the Kfar Aza kibbutz just a mile away from the border were 'confirmed' by journalists at the Jerusalem Post.

The Kfar Aza kibbutz was one of the first Israeli settlements to be targeted on the morning of October 7 by Hamas.

It was there that the terrorists, wielding assault rifles and grenades, ruthlessly shot dead screaming families as they begged for their lives before burning their homes.

The first wave of 70 terrorists had roared towards the quiet kibbutz on motorbikes after tearing through the border wire a mile away, while others paraglided over Israel's unsuspecting defences from Gaza.

As soon as they arrived, the heavily armed fighters attacked the compound from four directions - starting with the 'baby quarter' where the young families lived.

The brutal attack against Israel has resulted in the country declaring war on Hamas.

The IDF launched a bombardment of the Gaza strip - where the terrorists came from - and is now in the early stages of a ground invasion.

On Thursday, Israeli troops fought with Hamas militants on the edges of Gaza City as the Palestinian death toll from IDF strikes rose above 9,000.

With no end in sight after nearly four weeks of war, US and Arab leaders raised pressure on Israel to ease its siege and - at least briefly - halt its attacks in order to aid the 2.2 million civilians living in the small 140-square-mile territory.

On its face, Holocaust denial makes no sense. The physical evidence of the genocide exists. The testimony of survivors and of Nazis and their collaborators exists. And they are all irrefutable.

Beyond that, the Nazis were proud of the fact that they killed 6 million Jews. By denying the Holocaust, contemporary Nazis and Nazi fans seem to be demeaning their heroes. Why would they do that?

The mystery of Holocaust denial is no mere puzzlement from a distant past. Understanding its purpose is essential as we contend with our present predicament. Immediately after word got out about Hamas’s sadistic slaughter of more than 1,400 Israeli men, women and children on Oct. 7, Hamas’s supporters worldwide launched a concerted effort to deny that anything had happened.

Just as neo-Nazis both celebrate the Holocaust and deny it, so do those who rapturously greeted the stories of slaughtered and decapitated Jewish babies and men, and raped and dismembered Jewish women and girls, insist that Hamas didn’t commit any of those crimes.

A notable aspect of the atrocities is that Hamas’s mass murderers didn’t try to hide them. Instead, they broadcast them worldwide as they carried them out. Armed with Go Pro cameras and the cellphones of their victims, the Palestinian terrorists in southern Israel filmed the rape, dismemberment, torture and execution of their victims on their victims’ own phones, posting them in their victims’ family WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages as they carried them out. They did the same with their own social-media platforms. No one needed researchers to comb through Hamas archives. The directions for the slaughter were found in documents that the terrorists carried with them into Israel.

So why are supporters of Hamas tearing down posters of kidnapped Israeli children, women and men being held hostage in the Gaza Strip? They celebrate the hostage-taking on their social-media postings. Why are they insisting to their fellow students on campuses or subway riders in New York and Johannesburg that there are no hostages in Gaza, and this is all a Zionist conspiracy? A gas-lighting?

To understand what is happening and what it represents, we need to look at the most popular and powerful form of Holocaust denial today. As Izabella Tabarovsky meticulously demonstrated in a Tablet magazine article last January, this form of Holocaust denial was coined by the Soviets. It was popularized by a Palestinian terrorist of some repute: Palestinian Authority chairman and Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Mahmoud Abbas.

In 1982, Abbas wrote a doctoral dissertation at the KGB’s Institute of Oriental Studies, which he later turned into a bestselling book. His thesis, titled “The Relationship Between Zionists and Nazis, 1933-1945,” is the basis for Holocaust education in Palestinian schools.

Abbas claimed that the Zionists were Nazis. He insisted that just as the Nazis defined themselves as Aryan racial supremacists, the Zionists defined themselves as Jewish racial supremacists. Abbas claimed that the Holocaust was a collaborative effort between the Nazis and the Zionist leadership in the land of Israel. David Ben-Gurion, he wrote, had agents in Europe who collaborated with the Nazis. Their goal, Abbas said, was to support the genocide of European Jewry in order to win international sympathy for the Zionist effort to establish a Jewish supremacist state in the land of Israel, aka “Palestine.”

As Tabarovsky explained, the allure of Abbas’s claims for Palestinian Jew-haters and Soviets alike is clear. First, it enables them to avoid accounting for the role they played in the murder of 6 million Jews. It was the Palestinian Arab leader Haj Amin al-Husseini—not Ben-Gurion or any other Jew, Zionist or not—who collaborated with Hitler to annihilate the Jews in Europe and throughout the world. And it was the Soviet Union,—not the Zionist leadership—that signed a non-aggression pact with the Nazis. By insisting that it was the Jews who collaborated with their own destruction, both the Soviets and the Palestinians were able to project their own culpability onto their enemy: the Jews. They were also able to deny the Jews moral legitimacy as victims.

After all, if the Jews did it to themselves, then no one else had anything to own up to. And more importantly, the Jews’ alleged venality meant that the Nazis were right. The Jews are evil and deserve to be wiped off the map.

Sifting through the ashes

The same malevolent, genocide-supportive rationale guides Hamas’s supporters worldwide today.

Over the past several days, more and more information has come out about how the victims of Hamas’s atrocities were murdered and tortured with a sadism that was inconceivable until Oct. 7. And as that information is disseminated, Hamas supporters’ efforts to demonize those disseminating the information have expanded exponentially.

Consider just one example. Over the weekend, Eli Beer, the head of United Hatzalah rescue organization, told an American Jewish audience the story of a baby from Kfar Aza. The baby, he said, was placed in an oven and burned alive. It was later reported that the baby’s father was shot and left to bleed to death as his wife was gang-raped and executed, and his baby burned alive.

I posted the story on my X-platform (formerly Twitter) account. Within hours, the post went viral. By Wednesday morning, it had been viewed by more than 2.5 million people. Thousands had reposted, and thousands more had responded.

By Monday afternoon, I realized that most of the reposts and comments were supportive of Hamas. Many made jokes about the atrocity. But most of the posts were sheer denials that the crime even took place. Posters demonized me as a “Zionist Nazi” who propagates lies. Some pro-Hamas posters created memes declaring me a liar.

Once I understood what was happening, I asked multiple people for confirmations, which I received directly and indirectly from the Israel Defense Forces, the Israeli government, the American government, ZAKA (the body retrieval society, and in this case, body parts) and other sources. I also learned that the case that Beer revealed was not a lone event. Several bodies of babies were found with grill marks, indicating they had been burned alive in ovens.

Professor Chen Kugel, head of the Israel National Institute of Forensic Medicine, oversees the process of identifying the bodies of the victims. In media appearances since Oct. 7, Kugel has repeatedly described the corpses of victims who were burned alive. They can be distinguished from victims whose bodies were burned after they were executed by the presence of soot in their lungs. The soot indicates that they were breathing while they were burning.

The process of identifying the victims is protracted because Hamas directed its murderers to burn the bodies of their victims. Kugel and others have described the remains of many of the bodies as what can be seen from a crematorium. Avigail Gimpel, a volunteer at the Jewish burial society Chevra Kadisha who prepared dozens of victims’ bodies for burial, shared that several of the bodies she and her colleagues received were balls of charcoal. Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority have been brought in to sift through the ashes of burned-out homes to separate the human remains from burned furniture and walls.

Despite the mounting forensic and testimonial evidence, the denials continue and expand. When seen in the context of Palestinian Holocaust denial, they can be understood to serve three related goals.

First, the denials enable people who are accustomed to supporting the Palestinians, but who like to be seen as truthful, to feel comfortable casting doubt on the truth. For example, Eric Levitz, a progressive writer for New York magazine published the following on X on Oct. 22:

“Last night I asserted that this report [related to the slaughter of October 7] indicated that babies were beheaded. This was an overstatement. I should have said that the report established that babies were found headless, a fact that lends plausibility to claims of beheading, but which does not prove them.”

This week, the Yale Daily News published a similarly depraved correction of an opinion column that related to the fact that Hamas terrorists beheaded and raped their victims. The Yale student paper insisted the allegations had not been substantiated.

The second purpose of Hamas supporters’ denial is to criminalize Israel. If Hamas isn’t guilty, then obviously Israel is. Abbas accused the Jews of responsibility for the Holocaust in order to reject the moral legitimacy of the State of Israel. He did it as well to avoid contending with Palestinian culpability for the genocide despite Husseini’s role in blocking Jewish emigration to pre-state Israel and his direct role in carrying out the Holocaust. Just so, Hamas supporters are now accusing Israel of killing its own people or fabricating their victimization at the hands of the terrorist organization in order to build a case that Israel is the villain of this story. This enables Jew-haters worldwide to feel comfortable expressing their own loathing of the Jews. If the Jews are the villains, then it is moral to hate them. It is moral to stand with Hamas. And it is immoral to support the Jews and the State of Israel.

Finally, once truth is cast into doubt and Israel is castigated as the villain, the denials of Hamas’s crimes facilitate the continuation and expansion of those crimes. Hamas’s declared goal, like Abbas’s Fatah Party, is the elimination of the Jewish state. That is, its goal is to enact another Holocaust. With Israel castigated as a liar and the villain, the next step is to wipe it out.

To Jews and their supporters, Hamas apologists now terrorizing Jews on college campuses and in cities throughout the United States and Europe, and running rampant on social-media platforms seem crazy. How can they deny the undeniable fact of Hamas culpability?

But Hamas’s boosters are not delusional. They know exactly what they are doing.

They are waging a psychological war against Western governments and publics. Their purpose is to gaslight hundreds of millions of people, to cause them to question their own grip on reality and intimidate them into silence. At the same time, they seek to embolden their allies and fellow travelers to stand openly with Hamas by showing they have nothing to lose from doing so.

If they are successful, their efforts will produce an international climate conducive to the achievement of their common goal of eradicating the Jewish people and the Jewish state. If they are partially successful, Israel’s war effort will be undermined, and assaults on Jews worldwide will increase.

Israeli forces have broken through Hamas’s first line of defense and are approaching Gaza City.

Brig. Gen. Itzik Cohen, the commander of the Israel Defense Forces’ 162nd Armored Division, aka “the Steel Formation,” told reporters on Wednesday, day 26 of Israel’s “Operation Swords of Iron” to destroy Hamas, that troops are “deep in the Gaza Strip, at the gates of Gaza City.”

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said that “with advance planning, precise intelligence and joint attacks [from the land, air and sea], our forces broke through Hamas’s front lines of defense in the north of the Gaza Strip.”

The IDF on Thursday announced the death of Lt. Col. Salman Habaka, 33, the commander of the 188th Armored Brigade’s 53rd Battalion, from the Druze village of Yanuh-Jat in the Galilee. He was killed in a battle with Hamas terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip and is the highest-ranking officer killed during the Gaza ground operation.

Earlier on Thursday morning, the IDF announced that Lt. (res.) Yuval Zilber, 25, from Ramat Gan, was killed this week in Gaza. He was a company commander in the Jerusalem Brigade. He was killed in a clash with Hamas gunmen on Wednesday.

They are the 17th and 18th soldiers killed during the Gaza ground offensive. A total of 333 soldiers have been killed since the start of the war.

The IDF also announced on Thursday that three soldiers were seriously wounded in overnight operations in the Strip—a reservist of the 679th Yiftah Brigade, a Givati Brigade infantryman, and a Combat Engineering Corps soldier.

Additionally, a soldier from the Border Defense Force’s Caracal Battalion was seriously wounded in an incident at the Egyptian frontier.

“Dozens” of terrorists were killed overnight Wednesday as Israeli forces continued to strike terrorist infrastructure in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF said.

Israel declared war on Hamas after thousands of terrorists invaded the western Negev on Oct. 7, murdering at least 1,400 people, wounding over 5,000 others and taking back to Gaza more than 200 hostages.

Soldiers engaged terrorist cells, who attacked them with anti-tank missiles, bombs and grenades. IDF troops were supported by armor and artillery while directing strikes from aerial and naval forces.

Hamas terrorists ambushed soldiers from the Golani Infantry Brigade’s Battalion 13 around midnight. The troops fought them off during intense and chaotic close combat, Army Radio reported on Thursday.

The Hamas gunmen came out of tunnels and attacked the Israeli soldiers with anti-tank missiles, mortars and drones, the report said. The terrorists attempted to enter the armored personnel carriers and take control of them.

Ground soldiers with the help of air and artillery strikes, fought off the terrorists for around three hours, killing 20 terrorists. About 10 managed to escape. No Israeli casualties were reported.

Soldiers from the IDF’s 36th Armored Division in recent days “killed numerous terrorists and directed aircraft strikes on Hamas terror targets, which included both weapons manufacturing and storage facilities, anti-tank missile launching posts, and UAV launching posts,” according to the military.

Army engineers begin destroying Hamas tunnels

Israeli army engineers on Thursday morning began a massive operation to destroy Hamas tunnels in areas of the Gaza Strip currently under Israeli military control, Walla! reported.

Mine-clearing and tunnel-destroying specialty units have been combined for the operation, which includes the use of robots and explosive devices to demolish the shafts and tunnels, detonate booby traps and kill terrorists.

The forces will also examine the tunnel shafts to see if any of them lead to Gaza City, the epicenter of Hamas.

“We will collapse the shafts and tunnels on them. It will become an extermination ground,” a senior officer in the Southern Command told Walla!

“They made a mistake, they chose a territory from which it is impossible to escape. They will die in the tunnels,” the officer said.

IDF troops have already destroyed some 100 tunnels, the report said.

Hamas uses 100 women and children as human shields

Hamas sent a group of around 100 women and children to act as human shields during a battle with Israeli forces on Tuesday at the terror group’s Central Jabaliya Battalion compound.

“We are prepared for more cases of such cynical and blatant use of the population,” an IDF officer told Ynet.

IDF took over the Hamas stronghold in northern Gaza, killing the commander of the Jabaliya Battalion along with a large number of other terrorists.

Two Israeli soldiers were killed as troops were withdrawing after capturing the compound. They were named as Staff Sgt. Roei Wolf, 20, from Ramat Gan; and Staff Sgt. Lavi Lipshitz, 20, from Modi’in. Both served in the Givati Infantry Brigade’s reconnaissance unit. They were the first IDF casualties of the Gaza ground operation.

It is now three-and-a-half weeks after the start of what is now referred to in Israel as the Simchat Torah War. A war that started on this Jewish holiday after the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas carried out a bloody invasion of southern Israel, committing heinous crimes against humanity.

Only a select group of first aid workers, IDF military, government officials and journalists–as well as US President Joe Biden and other leaders of Western countries–know the full extent of the horrors.

Biden’s unprecedented response to what happened in Israel on October 7, 2023, and what he did afterward to help the country can safely be called unique, but it clearly had to do with what he was shown regarding Hamas’s atrocities in southern Israel when he visited the country after the massacre.

Until now, journalists, including myself, have been reluctant to report on the Hamas horrors in southern Israel.

The comparison with the actions of the Einsatzgruppen of Hitler’s SS (pictured above shooting Jews) and with those of ISIS seemed justified, but Hamas went further. ISIS did not behead babies and the SS did not rape dead women, as Hamas did on 7/10 in southern Israel (remember that Hebrew dates are ‘day/month/year’).

The only two organizations to date to publish photos and videos of Hamas’s unimaginable atrocities are MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute, and the ad hoc group South First Responders that documents on Telegram what was found in places like Kibbutz Be’eri and Kfar Aza.

In this article, I will make revelations that have not yet appeared in the international media.

After all, the Allies also had the press document and publish the horrors found in concentration camps such as Bergen Belsen during the liberation of Poland and Germany.

Examples

The Telegram channel of the South First Responders posted a video showing how a Hamas terrorist shot an Israeli man in the head in his stationary car. The terrorist then pulled the man’s dead body half out of the car and released the vehicle’s handbrake after which the car began to drive slowly and drove over a sidewalk, crushing the driver’s body.

Another video shows the burned bodies of a man and his daughter who hugged one another other while their bodies were tied together with iron wire.

In a video that Israel’s UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan showed to members of the UN Security Council, a Hamas terrorist can be seen beheading a living Thai migrant worker with a spade.

A photo taken by a member of the religious aid organization ZAKA, which always cares for the dead bodies of terror victims, shows the burned head of an Israeli woman whom Hamas also beheaded.

Another photo shows the tortured body of an Israeli man who was burned alive.

Apparently, the terrorists gagged the man’s mouth with what looked like a kitchen towel to avoid hearing his screams.

Then there was the news last Monday that the remains of German-Israeli woman Shani Louk had been found in Gaza.

She was last seen in a Hamas video showing her unconscious after being raped and tortured. Shani’s family later announced that a body part of hers had been found and that one could not live without it.

Yesterday I received information that only the head of the young woman had been found.

Also on Monday, October 30, I received information from Marina Medvin, who is a renowned crime expert living in Virginia. She wrote in that message that Hamas terrorists entered the home of an Israeli family and murdered the father of the family in front of his wife.

They then took the couple’s baby and put him/her in the glowing oven in the kitchen after which they raped the mother and forced her to listen to the child’s heartbreaking screams, before executing her as well.

Almost all of this documentation was created by the terrorists themselves, who brought cameras with them and then published the grizzly scenes on social media.

Impact on Israeli society

In Israel, many have now become aware in one way or another of these horrific crimes, but say they are unable to watch the footage. Still, it has had a huge impact on society.

This explains the determination of the IDF soldiers who are now in Gaza and the attitudes of the politicians who overcame their differences and are now, for the first time, determined to eliminate the Hamas terror organization and assassinate their leaders one-by-one.

Another effect is that people who have always been in favor of peace negotiations with Hamas and the other Palestinian groups have completely changed their opinion.

Among them is Israeli journalist Shlomi Eldar, who has always had contacts with Hamas and is an expert on Gaza.

Eldar was interviewed by Israel’s KAN 11 TV public broadcaster after October 7 and wept as he talked about a phone conversation he had with a Hamas leader following the massacre.

The Hamas terrorist hung up when Edlar asked why the Palestinians had murdered babies. So the Israeli journalist immediately sent an SMS message begging that the Hamas at least release the captive Israeli babies held in Gaza, but the request was made in vain.

When Eldar was asked if he was still in favor of talks with Hamas, he replied: “Have we had talks with the Nazis?”

The ‘two-state solution’ to murder Jews

The idea that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would rein in Hamas in the West Bank is false and dangerous.

Since Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre, thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank have been taking to the streets on an almost daily basis to voice support for the Iran-backed terrorist group.

This is the same West Bank that the Biden administration and many Westerners are hoping will be part of a future Palestinian state next to Israel. Those who continue to promote the dangerous idea of a “two-state solution” are ignoring the fact that Hamas is sitting not only in the Gaza Strip, but in the West Bank as well.

Bizarrely, US President Joe Biden and some Western leaders are continuing to talk about the need to establish a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, even after Hamas’s atrocities. What they’re actually saying is: Now that Hamas has used the Gaza Strip to invade Israel and slaughter Jews, let’s give this Islamist terror group the West Bank so it, too, can use it to butcher Jews.

The pro-Hamas demonstrations show that the terrorist group is popular among the Palestinians, including those living in the West Bank. The demonstrations also serve as a reminder that a large number of Palestinians support terrorism against Israel, including sickening crimes such as rape, beheadings, torture and burning women and children alive.

Recent public opinion polls conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) have shown that most Palestinians support Hamas and the “armed struggle” (murder) against Israel. Every Palestinian child knows that if presidential elections were held today, Hamas would win. The most recent PSR poll, published one month before the Hamas massacre, showed that 58% of the Palestinians would vote for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as opposed to 37% for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The poll also showed that 58% of the Palestinian public supports “armed confrontations and intifada” against Israel.

The pro-Hamas demonstrations have been taking place mostly in those areas of the West Bank controlled by the PA, headed by Abbas. Although Abbas and other senior PA leaders hate Hamas, they are not doing anything to stop the Palestinians living under their rule from taking to the streets to celebrate the murder of 1,400 Israelis and the wounding of more than 5,000 others during the Oct. 7 carnage.

It is worth noting that in 2007, Hamas expelled the PA from the Gaza Strip after killing hundreds of Abbas loyalists, some of whom were dragged through the streets and lynched, others of whom were thrown from rooftops of tall buildings.

By failing to curb the pro-Hamas demonstrations, the PA is not only complicit in incitement to murder Jews, but also acting against its own interests by emboldening its Hamas rivals. One of the reasons the PA is not taking any measures to stop the pro-Hamas demonstrations is because its leaders themselves are also involved in the campaign of incitement against Israel.

Indeed, Abbas’s anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric sometimes appears to surpass that of his rivals in Hamas. One month before the Hamas massacre, Abbas repeated a number of antisemitic canards he has uttered over the years, including that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler had Jews slaughtered because of their “social role” as moneylenders.

In a speech broadcast on Palestine TV on Sept. 3, Abbas told leaders of his ruling Fatah faction during a meeting in Ramallah:

“They say that Hitler killed the Jews because they were Jews and that Europe hated the Jews because they were Jews. Not true. It was clearly explained that [the Europeans] fought [the Jews] because of their social role, and not their religion… The [Europeans] fought against these people because of their role in society, which had to do with usury, money, and so on and so forth.”

It is also worth noting that it was Abbas who initiated the campaign of incitement against Israel with regard to visits by Jewish individuals and groups to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, the Western Wall of which is all that is left of the Jewish Temples (destroyed in 586 BCE and 70 CE), and which is Judaism’s holiest site.

In a notorious speech in 2015, Abbas falsely accused Jews who visit their holy Temple Mount of desecrating the Al-Aqsa Mosque, located on the Temple Mount:

“We salute every drop of blood spilled for the sake of Jerusalem. This blood is clean, pure blood, shed for the sake of Allah… Every martyr will be placed in Paradise, and all the wounded will be rewarded by Allah… The Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are ours. They are all ours, and they [Jews] have no right to defile them with their filthy feet.”

Abbas’s blood libel was interpreted by many Palestinians as a license to murder. In fact, shortly after Abbas made the accusation in 2015, Palestinians embarked on a spree of terrorism in which dozens of Jews were murdered in stabbing and car-ramming attacks.

Abbas and the PA have proven again and again that they hate Israel as much, if not more, than Hamas does.

The PA leadership has been waging an unceasing campaign to vilify Israel and demonize Jews, especially in the international arena. The Palestinian leadership has repeatedly accused Israel of “genocide,” “war crimes,” ethnic cleansing” and “apartheid.” It has also consistently threatened to file “war crimes” charges against Israelis with the International Criminal Court.

For decades, Abbas has used every available podium, including the United Nations General Assembly, to spread messages of hate and lies against Israel. His ultimate goal has been to undermine and delegitimize Israel to the point where Israel would be completely isolated in the international arena. His daily incitement against Israel has not only empowered Hamas, but also promoted antisemitism around the world.

Since the Hamas pogrom last month, Abbas has refrained from condemning the terrorist group. Instead, he has chosen to hold Israel responsible for the ensuing war. Essentially, Abbas is saying that Israel has no right to defend itself in the face of Hamas’s atrocities. He is also implying that he sees no problem with Hamas having sent thousands of terrorists to invade Israel and brutally murder innocent Israeli civilians.

The idea that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would rein in Hamas in the West Bank is false and dangerous. Abbas has no problem with Hamas operating in the West Bank, as long as the terrorist group is targeting Israel and not him or the PA leadership. That is why he has permitted Hamas supporters to march in the streets of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin and other West Bank cities and chant slogans in favor of Hamas.

On Oct. 29, dozens of schoolgirls marched in Jenin, chanting: “We are the daughter of [Hamas arch-terrorist Muhammad] Deif,” “We want Jihad [holy war], we want to die for the sake of Allah” and “We want to blow up the head of the Zionists.” At other demonstrations by Hamas supporters, some of which were held not far from Abbas’s office, Palestinians chanted: “Anyone who has a rifle should either shoot a Jew or give it to Hamas.”

The idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank means turning this area into another launching pad for attacking Israel and slaughtering Jewish men, women and children. President Biden and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken can argue as much as they want that Hamas does not represent the Palestinians, but everyone who lives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip knows that this is a lethal lie. Every Palestinian is aware of, and often admires, the pro-Hamas demonstrations that have been taking place in the West Bank since Oct. 7.

Every Palestinian sees, and often admires, the Hamas-affiliated armed groups that emerged in the West Bank over the past two years. Every Palestinian has also seen how Hamas won student council elections at major universities in the West Bank, including Birzeit University and An-Najah University. Every Palestinian, in addition, sees how the PA is unwilling to combat Hamas and other terrorist groups in the West Bank.

What appears to be missed by many in the West is that it is Israel’s security and civilian presence in the West Bank that is preventing Hamas, or groups such as Al-Qaeda or Islamic State, from seizing control of the area. What they also do not seem to realize is that Abbas is in power in the West Bank thanks to Israel’s presence there. Without that presence, Hamas would have taken control of the West Bank a long time ago. Creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank would mean turning it into another Iran-led base for jihad against Jews.

It is high time for Biden and other Western leaders to stop pushing delusional ideas that will quickly lead to a repeat of the Oct. 7 massacre. How many Jewish babies must be beheaded or baked alive, one wonders, for them to see that Palestinian leaders have radicalized their people against Israel to a point where they brag about slaughtering Jews with their own hands.

The state Senate on Tuesday approved a $1.5 billion proposal that would give Gov. Greg Abbott the money to continue erecting a barrier along the Texas-Mexico border and pay for state troopers to have a presence on Colony Ridge, the Houston suburb that far right publications have said is a magnet for undocumented immigrants.

Senate Bill 6 passed on a 17-11 vote and now heads to the House of Representatives, where lawmakers passed a similar bill that would devote the entire $1.5 billion to border barrier construction.

SB 6, sponsored by state Sen. Joan Huffman, R-Houston, would set aside $40 million for “overtime expenses and costs” to increase law enforcement presence in Colony Ridge “to preserve public safety and security.”

The rest of the money would go to continue building a barrier on the 1,200-mile Texas-Mexico border. The money would be on top of at least $1.5 billion in contracts the state has issued since September 2021 to build about 40 miles of border barrier. As of August, Texas had only erected 10 miles of the steel bollard barrier in Starr, Cameron, Val Verde and Webb counties.

Colony Ridge, a massive residential development north of Houston that its developer estimates is home to about 50,000 people, has grown steadily for more than a decade. It came to the attention of Abbott and Republican lawmakers after far-right publications published articles portraying the development as a “magnet for illegal immigrants.”

Abbott suggested that he is worried the state’s ban on “sanctuary cities” is not being enforced. The 2017 law bans so-called sanctuary cities and fines local officials $25,500 for each day municipal law enforcement doesn’t cooperate with immigration officials in turning over undocumented immigrants; heads of local law enforcement agencies can be charged with a misdemeanor under the law.

Legal experts say there is no law against selling land to people who aren’t citizens.

Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said during a House committee meeting earlier this month that Abbott’s concerns that the subdivision was a “no-go zone”and that it was too dangerous for law enforcement to patrol were unfounded.

“There’s no such thing as a no-go zone in Texas,” McCraw said. “We obviously talked to the sheriff … and he assured us that was not the case. Certainly, our sergeant didn’t think so. Our troopers can go anywhere.”
