Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is serving time in prison for being white and for piss-poor police work

 

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is serving time in prison for the murder of career criminal George Floyd. But Chauvin did not murder Floyd.

George Floyd died of his own doing. An autopsy revealed that he had ingested a fatal dose of Fentanyl. What kept him alive was that he also had methamphetamine in his system. The deadly effect of the Fentanyl, a powerful depressant, was offset by the meth, a stimulant. 

The autopsy also revealed that Floyd had a bad heart. That would help explain why he complained, "I can't breathe." An officer's body cam clearly showed Floyd complaining that he couldn't breathe way before he was thrown to the ground and pinned there by the cops. 

One doesn't have to be a pathologist to figure out that a combination of drugs and a bad heart contributed to Floyd's demise, if not actually the direct cause of his death.

Chauvin and his fellow cops should have placed Floyd inside a police car while awaiting an ambulance.  Or they could have driven him to a jail where the booking officers would have called for an ambulance if they felt it was necessary. The arresting cops could have even rushed Floyd directly to a hospital.  

Floyd's death set off Black Lives Matter protests and riots.all over the country. That resulted in Chauvin's political lynching. 

Had Chauvin been white, there would have been no protests and he would not have been charged with a crime by both the State of Minnesota and the federal government. 

The Minneapolis cops who pinned Floyd to the ground are not the only law enforcement officers that are victims of the BLM riots. Ever since those riots, America's white cops who used deadly force against black men or women have been targeted with criminal investigations by woke prosecutors, even when the use of that force was clearly justified

Chauvin is only guilty of being white and of piss-poor police work, not of murder.

Ben Shapiro, a strong ally of President Trump, and other MAGA supporters have urged the President to pardon Chuvin.

Trump has pardoned the rioters who attacked police officers as they stormed the nation's capitol on January 6, 2021. He has also pardoned some of his crooked supporters. 

But Trump hasn't pardoned Derek Chauvin who has committed no crime but is rotting away in prison. Why not?

The terrorist who attacked peaceful pro-Israel protestors with a makeshift flamethrower in Colorado on Sunday has been identified as an 'illegal alien'.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, allegedly injured six people aged between 67 and 88 - setting at least one ablaze - at a demonstration honoring the October 7 victims who are still being held hostage by Hamas militants in Gaza. 

Boulder Police said the horror unfolded during an event organized by Run For Their Lives on Pearl Street Mall in the city's downtown just before 1.30pm local time on Sunday, the first day of a Jewish holiday called Shavuot. 

FBI Director Kash Patel called the incident a 'terror attack' while Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said it 'appears to be a hate crime given the group that was targeted'.

Shocking footage from the scene showed several victims laying motionless on the ground beside Israel flags as witnesses rushed to pour water on their wounds. 

Soliman appeared to taunt the victims while brandishing bottles of alcohol for the Molotov cocktails in each hand as smoke rose from the scene.

Wearing only jeans and sunglasses, he yelled: 'End Zionists... they are terrorists' and 'free Palestine'. He also said: 'How many children have you killed?' according to the ADL Center on Extremism. 

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said Soliman is an 'illegal alien' who arrived in the US on a visa issued by the Biden administration. When he illegally overstayed that visa, he was given a second chance and issued a new work permit. 

Soliman is from Egypt, according to Fox News.

Disturbing footage of Soliman's attack showed EMTs used stretchers to move people into ambulances while flames spread in patches across the ground.

Another video showed what looked like a burn scar across the ground close to the city's old courthouse. Blackened burned-out bottles littered the scene.

Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn told a press conference that victims suffered 'injuries consistent with burns, and other injuries' and that wounds ranged from 'minor' to 'potentially life-threatening'.

Law enforcement told NBC just before 8pm that one person was in a critical condition. 

Mark Michalek, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Denver field office, told another press conference later on Sunday that witnesses said Soliman used 'a makeshift flamethrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd'. 

FBI Director Kash Patel called the incident 'a targeted terror attack'.  

'Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available,' Patel wrote on X. 

Boulder Police said they were evacuating several blocks of the typically popular pedestrian mall area.

Chief Redfearn added that Soliman was taken into custody 'without incident'. 

Soliman, who was wearing sunglasses and jeans with no shirt when he was detained, was also taken to the hospital with 'minor injuries'. 

Chief Redfearn did not disclose the motivation behind the attack. 'It would be irresponsible for me to speculate on motive this early on,' he said. 

Boulder Police were also initially split with the FBI on whether to call the incident a terror attack, with Redfearn saying it was too early to define the incident.

'My thoughts are with those injured and impacted by today's attack against a group that meets weekly on Boulder's Pearl Street Mall to call for the release of the hostages in Gaza,' Attorney General Phil Weiser said in a statement. 

'From what we know, this attack appears to be a hate crime given the group that was targeted.' 

'People may have differing views about world events and the Israeli-Hamas conflict, but violence is never the answer to settling differences,' he added. 

'Hate has no place in Colorado. We all have the right to peaceably assemble and the freedom to speak our views. 

'But these violent acts—which are becoming more frequent, brazen and closer to home—must stop and those who commit these horrific acts must be fully held to account.' 

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino called the incident 'an act of terror and targeted violence'. 

'All of the necessary assets will be dedicated to this investigation. If you have any investigative tips please contact the FBI. And if you aided or abetted this attack, we will find you. You cannot hide,' he wrote on X. 

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement that he was 'closely monitoring' the situation, adding that 'hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable.'

Police and the FBI said the horror unfolded at Pearl Street Mall on Sunday afternoon

 

Demonstrators met at 1pm at Pearl Street and 8th Street in downtown Boulder to walk the length of Pearl Street Mall. 

The weekly event draws attention to the 58 Israeli people who have been held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza since October 7, 2023. 

'This is not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release,' Run For Their Lives said in a statement. 

Eyewitness Brooke Coffman said she saw 'a big fire go up' at the scene, prompting her to call 911. 

Coffman told NBC she saw two women 'rolling around a little bit' in their underwear after having stripped out of their burning clothes with 'really bad burns all up on their legs.' 

Another woman nearby screamed as she suffered with burns on her legs. Coffman said one victim had her hair completely singed off. 

California tourist Alex Osante was eating at an Italian restaurant off Boulder’s famed Pearl Street pedestrian mall when he heard a ‘big boom’ and saw a woman ‘on fire from head to toe on fire.’

‘People were screaming and yelling … tripping over each other,’ Osante told the Daily Mail. 

‘The terrorist had a Molotov cocktail in his hand. He had two other bottles, and he threw a bottle at the group, and a lady caught on fire from head to toe. She was fully immersed in fire.

‘And then the other few people, maybe four others, were also on fire – but not as bad.'

Police have asked residents to avoid the stretch of Pearl Street between Walnut and Pine as they continue to investigate. 

They later urged people to stop flying helicopters over the scene due to the aircraft disrupting their drone response. 

The Boulder attack occurred as law enforcement authorities in the US grapple with a sharp spike in antisemitic violence. 

It comes just over a week after a man was arrested over the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, DC on May 22. 

The victims were identified as German-Israeli dual national Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and his girlfriend Sarah Milgrim, 26. 

Lischinsky had been planning to propose to Milgrim after buying a ring. 

The suspect, 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, repeatedly shouted 'Free Palestine' after shooting them dead, as police dragged him away.

Jewish human rights organization the Simon Wiesenthal Center said the Boulder attack came on the eve of a religious holiday. 

'On the eve of Shavuot, a sacred celebration of Jewish identity and tradition, we are forced yet again to confront a horrifying reality: Being Jewish, supporting Israel, or simply gathering as a community now makes American Jews a target,' the center's CEO Jim Berk said.

'This afternoon in Boulder, Colorado, a man threw a Molotov cocktail into a peaceful solidarity walk calling for the release of 58 hostages still held by Hamas, a humanitarian cause that should unite, not divide.'

He blamed the attack, as well as the murders of the Israeli embassy staffers, on 'months of anti-Israel propaganda, moral equivocation, and silence in the face of raging antisemitism'. 

'The nonstop demonization of Israel and Zionism on our campuses, in our streets, and across digital platforms has created a climate where hate flourishes, and physical attacks—even murder—of Jews is inevitable,' Berk said.

NATO must brace to be attacked by Putin warns Germany's defence chief - as Zelensky celebrates 'brilliant, historic' drone strike that 'wiped out a third of Russia's strategic bombers in $7billion blitz’

Germany's defence chief has starkly warned that NATO should be prepared for a possible attack by Russia in the next four years. 

General Carsten Breuer told the BBC that Russia poses a 'very serious threat' to the Western defence bloc, the likes of which he has never seen in his 40-year military career.'

The stark warning comes amid one of Ukraine's most audacious attacks, in which it used a swarm of kamikaze drones unleashed from the backs of trucks to devastate $7billion dollars worth of equipment at two of Russia's most critical airfields. 

Ukraine's security service, the SBU, claimed to have destroyed '34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main airfields of the Russian Federation', and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has described the attack as one for the 'history books.'

He added that nearly 120 drones were used, and that the headquarters of the operation were 'right next to the FSB', Russia's security service. 

Breuer pointed to the massive increase in Vladimir Putin's armoury and ammunitions stock, including a massive output of 1,500 main battle tanks every year as well as the four million rounds of 152mm artillery munition produced in 2024 alone. 

Breuer said that not all of these additional military equipment was going to Ukraine, which signalled a possible building up of capabilities that could be used against the NATO bloc, adding that Baltic states were at a particularly high risk of being attacked. 

'There's an intent and there's a build up of the stocks' for a possible future attack on Nato's Baltic state members, he said.

'This is what the analysts are assessing - in 2029. So we have to be ready by 2029... If you ask me now, is this a guarantee that's not earlier than 2029? I would say no, it's not. So we must be able to fight tonight,' he said.

Breuer said that the Suwalki Gap, a region that borders Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Belarus, was particularly vulnerable to Russian military activity. 

'The Baltic States are really exposed to the Russians, right? And once you are there, you really feel this... in the talks we are having over there,' he said.

The Estonians, he said, had given the analogy of being close to a wildfire where they 'feel the heat, see the flames and smell the smoke', while in Germany 'you probably see a little bit of smoke over the horizon and not more'.

Earlier this week, David Petraeus, a respected former US general and CIA chief, claimed Lithuania would be most at risk to an attack from Russia. 

He said Russia could launch an incursion into that Baltic state to test Western resolve or as a precursor to a wider offensive. 

Breuer urged fellow NATO nations to build up their militaries again, following a long period of demilitarisation across dozens of nations.

'What we have to do now is really to lean in and to tell everybody, hey, ramp up... get more into it because we need it. We need it to be able to defend ourselves and therefore also to build up deterrence', he said. 

But with NATO apparently falling apart, amid a surge of distrust between each of its member states, Breuer was quick to allay fears that NATO wouldn't be cohesive enough to fight Russia. 

He pointed to Finland and Sweden's ascension into the bloc: 'I've never seen such a unity like it is now' among nations and military leaders. 

'All of them understand the threat that is at the moment approaching Nato, all understand that we have to develop a direction of deterrence, into the direction of collective defence. This is clear to everyone. The urgency is seen.' 

NATO members Hungary and Slovakia have, since Russia invaded Ukraine, have developed closer relations with Putin, in many instances using their powers in groups like the EU and NATO to push the dictator's agenda.

Russian war-channels immediately began calling for Putin to respond by using nuclear weapons

And US president Donald Trump, who commands the largest military in the bloc, has consistently sided with Putin on military matters, especially when it comes to NATO. 

Just yesterday his envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, declared that Russia's historic feud with NATO were 'fair.' 

Asked by ABC News about a Reuters report that Russia wanted a written pledge over NATO not enlarging eastwards to include Ukraine and other former Soviet republics, Kellogg said: 'It's a fair concern.'

'We've said that to us, Ukraine coming into NATO is not on the table, and we're not the only country that says that'.

Shortly before Breuer's comments, Ukraine launched one of its most audacious attacks of the war using a 'swarm' of kamikaze drones unleashed from the backs of trucks to devastate two of Russia's most major airfields. 

Dubbed 'Operation Spiderweb', the co-ordinated strikes have left Vladimir Putin humiliated and his prized warplanes in smouldering ruins, though Moscow has claimed to have 'repelled' all the attacks.

Zelensky said on social media that the operation had 'an absolutely brilliant result', adding that it was one 'achieved solely by Ukraine.'

He said in a post: 'One year, six months, and nine days from the start of planning to effective execution. 

'Our most long-range operation. Our people involved in preparing the operation were withdrawn from Russian territory in time.'

 'Of course, not everything can be revealed at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in history books,' he adds.

'Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so – we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!'

He added that 117 drones were used, each with their own individual pilot. 

He added: 'The most interesting thing - and we can already say this publicly - is that the "office" of our operation on Russian territory was located right next to the FSB of Russia in one of their regions.'

Two remote military airfields, Olenya in the Arctic Murmansk region and Belaya in eastern Siberia, were rocked by massive explosions overnight, with dramatic footage showing fires raging for hours. 

The bases, located thousands of miles from Ukraine, are key to Russia's nuclear strike capability and were considered untouchable.  

Yet Ukraine appears to have struck them with deadly precision, using first-person-view (FPV) drones launched from unmarked vans parked near the airfields. 

Both are thousands of miles from Ukraine but were 'under drone attack', with dozens of Moscow's nuclear capable warplanes evidently destroyed.

Olenya airbase is home to Russia's ageing fleet of Tu-95 'Bear' bombers - used both for conventional missile strikes and capable of launching nuclear weapons against the West. Several of the aircraft were reportedly left exposed in the open, despite repeated Ukrainian attacks on similar facilities.

Ablaze, too, was Belaya nuclear airbase in eastern Siberia's Irkutsk region - some 2,900 miles from Ukraine.

More alarmingly, the strikes have triggered frenzied calls within Russia's military circles for a nuclear response. 'Disabling strategic aircraft gives Russia the right to use nuclear weapons,' declared pro-Kremlin war analyst Vladislav Pozdnyakov. 'Let me remind you.'  

Russia's nuclear doctrine allows for a nuclear response in the event of an attack on 'critical government or military infrastructure'.

In particular, 'an enemy attack that disrupts the operation of nuclear forces, threatening Russia's ability to respond' could lead to Putin ordering an atomic strike.

Ukraine's SBU secret service was reportedly conducting a large-scale special operation to destroy Russian bombers.

The Ukrainian media claimed more than 40 Putin aircraft had been hit, including Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and A-50 strategic bombers.

The damage to the enemy was alleged to exceed £1.5billion.

A driver of a truck filled with drones that attacked Olenegorsk in Murmansk 'may not have known about the cargo', said a report.

According to Baza media, the driver has been detained.

'A truck stopped at a gas station at the entrance to the city… drones started flying out of the back of the truck and then attacked various objects,' said a report.

A similar account was heard from Siberia but there are no official comments yet.

Ukraine's Pravda Gerashchenko Telegram channel said: 'A special operation 'Web' is being conducted to demilitarise Russia.

'The [SBU] report the destruction of Russian bomber aircraft behind enemy lines.

' In particular, the destruction of more than 40 aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3.'

The audacious strike was described as 'Russia's Pearl Harbour' and the 'blackest day in aviation' for the country by pro-Putin Telegram channels.

Russia's ministry of defence said in a Telegram post that Ukraine had carried out a 'terrorist attack' in the regions of Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur.

It claimed that all of the attacks were 'repelled', adding: 'As a result of the launch of FPV drones from the territory located in the immediate vicinity of airfields, several pieces of aviation equipment caught fire.'

Huckabee slams French push for Palestinian state: ‘Carve it out of the French Riviera’

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee dismissed France’s potential upcoming recognition of a Palestinian state, calling the move “revolting” while Israel fights Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“It’s incredibly inappropriate in the midst of a war that Israel is dealing with to go out and present something that I think increasingly Israelis are steadfast against,” he told Fox News.

Huckabee’s comments came after French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday that recognizing a Palestinian state, with conditions, is “not only a moral duty, but a political necessity.”

Macron also said that European countries should “harden the collective position” against Israel if it did not respond appropriately to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including keeping open the possibility of sanctions.

France is considering recognizing a Palestinian state ahead of a United Nations conference, which France and Saudi Arabia are co-hosting from June 17-20, to lay out the parameters for a roadmap to a Palestinian state, while ensuring Israel’s security.

“October 7 changed a lot of things,” said Huckabee, referring to the Hamas-led terror onslaught in 2023 that started the Gaza war. “If France is really so determined to see a Palestinian state, I have a suggestion for them — carve out a piece of the French Riviera and create a Palestinian state. They are welcome to do that, but they are not welcome to impose that kind of pressure on a sovereign nation.”

“And I find it revolting that they think they have the right to do such a thing,” Huckabee added, stressing Washington will not participate in the conference.

A former governor of Arkansas and two-time Republican US presidential candidate, Huckabee was confirmed for the post in April by the US Senate, which voted roughly along party lines.

The conservative Baptist minister is a self-identified Christian Zionist who visited Israel dozens of times prior to his posting. He has made many pro-settlement statements in the past, including staunch support for Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Israeli annexation of the territory, as well as opposition to Palestinian statehood and denial that a Palestinian nation exists.

The United States has long opposed Palestinian efforts to secure statehood status that are not achieved through direct negotiations with Israel.

Even under the previous US administration, led by then-president Joe Biden, which was seen as more vocally sympathetic toward the Palestinians, the White House insisted that the Palestinian Authority would need to undergo significant reforms before a Palestinian state was recognized. The Ramallah-based PA has long been marred by allegations of corruption and mismanagement.

A visit to Ramallah by the Saudi, Emirati, Qatari, Egyptian, Jordanian and Turkish foreign ministers, which Hussein al-Sheikh, vice president of the Palestinian Authority, told CNN was scheduled for Sunday, won’t take place.

An Israeli official told reporters that the Jewish state blocked the visit, which would have been the highest-level visit by a Saudi diplomat to Judea and Samaria since the 1967 Six-Day War. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud had been slated to lead the delegation, which was to meet with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.

“The Palestinian Authority, which to this day refuses to condemn the Oct. 7 massacre, intended to host in Ramallah a provocative meeting of foreign ministers from Arab countries to discuss the establishment of a Palestinian state,” the Israeli official said.

“Such a state would undoubtedly become a terrorist state in the heart of the land of Israel,” the official said. “Israel will not cooperate with such moves aimed at harming it and its security.”

The Jordanian foreign ministry stated in Arabic on Saturday that the decision is “a blatant violation of Israel’s obligations as the occupying power.”

The ministry stated on behalf of the delegation that it had “decided to postpone the visit to Ramallah in light of Israel’s obstruction of its mission by refusing the delegation entry through the airspace of the occupied West Bank, which is controlled by Israel.”

“It reflects the extent of the Israeli government’s arrogance, its disregard for international law and its continued illegitimate measures and policies that besiege the brotherly Palestinian people and their legitimate leadership, perpetuate the occupation and undermine the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace,” the ministry added.

There is a growing push to recognize a Palestinian state amidst the Israel-Hamas war, and Saudi Arabia and France plan to co-sponsor a two-state solution conference at the United Nations in mid-June.

Democrats took to the floor of the Texas House on Saturday to label a ban on clubs that support gay teens the work of “monsters” and to say the ban endangers children and strips them of their dignity.

The Democratic representatives grew emotional in opposition to a bill that would ban K-12 student clubs focused on sexuality and gender identity.

Senate Bill 12, authored by Sen. Brandon Creighton, won final legislative passage Saturday after lawmakers in both chambers adopted the conference committee reports that specifically clarified that schools will be banned from authorizing or sponsoring student clubs based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Backers proclaimed that the bill enshrines a parent’s rights and puts the parent not just at the table, but at the head of the table where the child’s best interests are decided. They also targeted diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, claiming that they project ideologies on students and put too much focus on race, sexuality and gender identity instead of the quality of education.

Rep. Gene Wu, D-Houston, emphasized that these clubs exist because of a long history of oppression against the LGBTQ+ community. He warned against demonizing students and teachers for discussing gender and sexuality.

“The real monsters are not kids trying to figure out who they are,” Wu said during the House discussion. “The monsters are not the teachers who love them and encourage them and support them. They are not the books that provide them with some amount of comfort and information. The real monsters are here.”

Lawmakers shared personal stories about LGBTQ+ youth. Rep. Rafael Anchía said his daughter was a vice president of a pride club at her school. He stressed that these clubs “are no more about sex than 4-H or ROTC or the basketball team.”

“It wasn't a sex club,” Anchía said. “They'd get together and they'd watch movies. They'd color. They'd go to musicals. It was about a kid who felt weird who found her people and everything about it was good. I don't know why grown-ups in this body are so triggered with my daughter getting together with her classmates in a school-sponsored activity.”

Anchía also told the Texas Tribune he “didn’t sign up for five anti-LGBT bills this session.”

Rep. Jolanda Jones, D-Houston, shared her experience as a Black woman and a lesbian, saying she didn’t come out until the age of 50 because she knew “the world wasn't safe.” She warned that banning LGBTQ+ clubs could worsen bullying.

“And we have the nerve to say that we care about mental health,” Jones said. “We've passed bill after bill about access to care, about youth suicide, about prevention and treatment. But this bill makes kids sicker, sadder, more alone. This bill doesn't protect children. It endangers them. It doesn't give parents more rights. It strips children of their dignity.”

SB 12 is often referred to as the “Parental Bill of Rights” because it claims to give parents more control over their children’s schools. But Rep. Erin Zwiener, D-Driftwood, addressed those who are “afraid that your kids or your grandkids might grow up queer,” warning that the bill could harm family relationships.

“Getting silence in schools from the LGBTQ community, which is what this bill is designed to do, will not stop your kids from being gay,” Zwiener said. “It will just make them afraid to come out. It will make them afraid to live their lives as their full selves. It will make them afraid to tell you when they figure out that they're LGBTQ and it might damage your relationship with them forever.”

Rep. Nicole Collier, D-Fort Worth, argued that allowing religious organizations in schools but banning “clubs that allow students to be who they are, is a double standard that flies in the face of the principles you say you support.”

“An LGBTQ person can't change who they are any more than the fact that I can't change that I'm Black,” Collier said. “What you're saying to students today is that you will be accepted as long as you are who we say you should be.”

If signed by the governor, the bill will become law on Sept. 1.

The bodies of five musicians, members of a Mexican regional music group who had gone missing, were found in the northern city of Reynosa along the Texas border, authorities said on Thursday.

 

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico — The bodies of five musicians, members of a Mexican regional music group who had gone missing, were found in the northern city of Reynosa along the Texas border, authorities said on Thursday.

The musicians from the band Grupo Fugitivo, which played at parties and local dances in the region, had been reported missing since Sunday.

Tamaulipas state prosecutors, who had been investigating their disappearance, said the men were kidnapped around 10 p.m. that night while traveling in a SUV on the way to a venue where they were hired to play. Their bodies were found on the fringes of Reynosa. Prosecutors said nine suspects believed to be part of a faction of the Gulf Cartel, which has strong presence in the city, have been arrested.

Authorities were not immediately able to say why the men were slain, and did not deny reports by local media that the bodies had been burned.

The genre they played – Mexican regional music, which encapsulates a wide range of styles including corridos and cumbia – has in recent years gained a spotlight as it’s entered a sort of international musical renaissance. Young artists sometimes pay homage to leaders of drug cartels, often portrayed as Robin Hood-type figures.

It was not immediately clear if the group played such songs or if the artists were simply victims of rampant cartel violence that has eclipsed the city. But other artists have faced death threats by cartels, while others have had their visas stripped by the United States under accusations by the Trump administration that they were glorifying criminal violence.

The last time the musicians were heard from was the night they were kidnapped, when they told family members they were on the way to the event. After that, nothing else was heard of them.

Their disappearance caused an uproar in Tamaulipas, a state long eclipsed by cartel warfare. Their families reported the disappearances, called on the public for support and people took to the streets in protest.

On Wednesday, protesters blocked the international bridge connecting Reynosa and Pharr, Texas, later going to a local cathedral to pray and make offerings to the disappeared.

Reynosa is a Mexican border city adjacent to the United States and has been plagued by escalating violence since 2017 due to internal disputes among groups vying for control of drug trafficking, human smuggling and fuel theft.

This case follows another that occurred in 2018, when armed men kidnapped two members of the musical group “Los Norteños de Río Bravo,” whose bodies were later found on the federal highway connecting Reynosa to Río Bravo, Tamaulipas.

During Musk's time as the head of DOGE, he helped usher in big reforms at the agency, which included an effective dismantlement of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), staff reductions at the State Department, and the cancellation of various foreign aid programs due to lack of oversight, inefficiency, and other reasons.

 

Elon Musk may no longer be the top dog at DOGE, but his reforms at the State Department will remain permanently in place, a senior agency official told Fox News Digital Thursday. 

As Musk's 130-day mandate as a "special government employee" comes to an end, the billionaire entrepreneur announced his departure from DOGE in a post on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Wednesday night.

During Musk's time as the head of DOGE, he helped usher in big reforms at the State Department, which included an effective dismantlement of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), staff reductions, and the cancellation of various foreign aid programs due to lack of oversight, inefficiency, and other reasons.

The indication that Musk's DOGE-related work at the State Department will continue was reinforced by a new reorganization effort at the Department of State announced by Secretary Marco Rubio on Thursday. The new reorganization plans are expected to cut or consolidate more than 300 of the State Department's offices and bureaus as part of a massive overhaul aimed at streamlining the department, according to agency officials. 

The agency currently has about 700 offices, meaning the reorganization effort will slash, or join, more than 40% of its offices.

"We have too many godd--- offices," a senior State Department official told Fox News Digital. "We’re trying to shrink offices rather than create them."

 

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a new reorganization effort Thursday, which will continue the work DOGE began. 

 

The State Department submitted a notice to Congress Thursday disclosing plans for the reorganization overhaul, which senior State Department officials said will be the largest restructuring for the agency since the Cold War.  

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added Thursday that many DOGE employees will remain part of the Trump administration, despite Musk winding down his work. 

"Surely the mission of Doge will continue," Leavitt told reporters Thursday. "Many Doge employees are now political employees."

One of Musk's DOGE associates, Jeremy Lewin, has recently been tapped for a top role within the State Department. In April, he was placed at State for a different role. For his part, Lewin, however, disputes that he ever did any direct work for Musk's DOGE.

CLOVIS TRACK MEET RESULTS

The now infamous Clovis Track Meet is over.  It was stopped briefly a couple of times due to "heckling" from the stands.  Some spectators were shouting slogans about girls sports being reserved for actual girls.  Pretty damn cheeky of them.

In any event pretend girl AB Hernandez did pretty well as expected.  He cleared the high jump at 1.7 meters (5 ft 7 in) on his first attempt.  His "co-winners" were real girls, Jillene Wetteland and Lelani Laruelle also cleared that distance with one failed attempt each.

Hernandez also won the triple-jump beating out real girl Kira Hatcher by over 1/2 meter.  The new arrangement results in both competitors sharing the first spot.

Hernandez placed second in the long jump to real girl Brooke White.  Ms. White describes herself as part of the queer community and expressed no issues with competing against Hernandez.

The same news article this info came from (KCRA TV NEWS) also says that Loren Webster won the long jump by a few inches over Hernandez.  I am guessing it means that one of these was the initial qualifier on Friday and one was the final on Saturday but it wasn't real clear from the article.

The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) that sanctions these matches denies that the changes in the rules were them knuckling under to the evil orange man and asserts that they came to the new rules independently before the Trump administration starting yelling about a Title IX lawsuit.

Elon Musk unleashed a storm of fury against U2 frontman Bono, branding the rock legend a 'liar' and an 'idiot' after the singer claimed Musk's proposed DOGE cuts to USAID have led to hundreds of thousands of deaths.

Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday, Bono, 65, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, criticized proposed funding reductions by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a federal body led by Musk that aims to streamline US agencies. 

The longtime humanitarian claimed the cuts to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have already resulted in more than 300,000 deaths worldwide, including over 200,000 children suffering from malnutrition, malaria and pneumonia.

'It's not proven, but there is surveillance enough to suggest that 300,000 people have already died from just this cut off, this hard cut, of USAID,' Bono said. 

He alleged that mass layoffs have left tons of food, water and medical aid undelivered.

'There's food rotting in boats and warehouses,' Bono continued. 'There is 50,000 tons of food that are stored in Djibouti, South Africa, Dubai ... that is rotting rather than going to Gaza or Sudan. Because the people who knew the codes for the warehouses [where the food is stored] were fired ... gone. What is that? That's not America, is it?'

Musk, clearly incensed, took to X, formerly Twitter, to scorch the U2 frontman.

'He's such a liar/idiot. Zero people have died!' the billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote in a now-viral post. 

But, he didn't stop there - Musk followed up with: 'Got a big one here @lfindRetards.' 

Later, he posted a clip from South Park titled 'Is Bono the Biggest Piece of Crap in the World?' with the caption 'Bono.'

Bono cited a study by Boston University professor Brooke Nichols to support his claims, he also acknowledged concerns about downsizing government but warned that steep cuts to the aid agency are already having dire consequences.

'To destroy, to vandalize, it felt like with glee, that these life support systems were being pulled out of the walls,' Bono said before referencing a story published in Christianity Today. 

'[One worker said], "We don't have the funds, we have to choose which child to pull off the IVs." It just seems to me, I don't know if "evil" is too strong a word, but what we know about pure evil is that it rejoices in the deaths, in the squandering of human life - particularly children. It actually rejoices in it. And whether it's incompetence, whether it's unintended consequences, it's not too late for people.'

Bono added that he raised the issue with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who he said is 'convinced people aren't dying yet.'

Rogan, 57, then challenged Bono's position, describing USAID as a 'money-laundering operation' that has lost even a 'trillion' dollars with 'no oversight, no receipts.' 

While the organization has faced credible accusations of waste and fraud, such cases are believed to represent only a small portion of its $40 billion budget. 

Still, the Trump administration placed most USAID workers on leave in February after Musk declared it a 'criminal organization' and said it was 'time to die.'

That said, Rogan acknowledged the humanitarian necessity of USAID's work. 

'We help the world, and when you're talking about making wells for people in the Congo to get fresh water, when you're talking about food and medicine to places that don't have access - no way that should have been cut out. And that should have been clear before they make these radical cuts. There's got to be a way to keep aid and not have fraud.'

Rogan also noted, 'The ironic thing is, even though Elon Musk has proposed all these things and the DOGE committee has proposed all these things, they've made no cuts in terms of the budget. They've cut nothing.'

Musk and Rubio's insistence that 'zero people have died' may refer to the fact that the 300,000 figure is a projection, not a confirmed death toll. 

In the Christianity Today article Bono referenced, aid workers acknowledged recent cuts and warned that child deaths could soon follow. 

'I do think we can expect to see increased mortality rates, increased infection, and increased despair if things aren't corrected,' one worker reportedly said. 

However, Nichols, the infectious disease expert who authored the projection, told The Times UK that tens of thousands likely have already died. 

'Because I've been doing HIV [research] for so long, I just assumed that would be where the biggest impact would occur,' she said. 'But I was really shocked by the child deaths from diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition. Tens of thousands of children have died because we've pulled out our funding from diarrhea, pneumonia and food programs.'

While there is debate about how many have already died, experts widely agree that the proposed 80 percent reduction in USAID's budget will be catastrophic if fully implemented or left unaddressed.

Previously, Bill Gates also criticized Musk for the proposed cuts, telling The Financial Times, 'The picture of the world's richest man killing the world's poorest children is not a pretty one.'

The controversy comes amid Musk stepping down from his official White House role and a New York Times report alleging that he took large quantities of ketamine and other drugs while overseeing DOGE. 

Musk has denied the claims, calling the report 'bs' and saying his packed schedule would make such behavior impossible.

Also during the Friday podcast, Bono warned against the Trump administration's broader isolationist stance.

'I just want to remind Americans of the size of their country, and I'm not talking about the geography,' he said. 

'The size of the idea, it's just an extraordinary thing. It's an idea big enough to fit the whole world, and when it becomes an island rather than a continent … when it shrinks, America seems to stop being America.'
