PEACE THE PALESTINIAN WAY

Before his death, when Yasser Arafat, the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization, was questioned about whether he was seeking peace with Israel, he replied:

"We don't want peace, we want victory. Peace for us means Israel's destruction and nothing else.... We shall fight on to victory. Even for decades, for generations, if necessary."

Recently at its party congress, Fatah, the “moderate” arm of the Palestine Liberation Organization, publicized its goals, declaring:

“The armed revolution of the Arabic Palestinian nation is a decisive factor in the fight for the liberation and the liquidation of the Zionist presence. This struggle will not end until after the liquidation of the Zionist entity and the liberation of Palestine.”

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president and leader of Fatah, publicly supported the declaration to “liquidate” the Jewish state. Like Arafat, Abbas is interested only in establishing an interim Palestinian state, one that will eventually destroy the State of Israel, even if that takes decades or generations.

President Obama, stop playing footsie with those who want to destroy the State of Israel. By siding with the Palestinians against the Israelis as you reach out to the Muslim world, you are undermining the only nation that offers a place of refuge for Jews who are persecuted in other parts of the world.
