‘COMMUNITY' CELEBRATES RESIGNATION OF FERGUSON CHIEF

Two cops were shot in front of the Ferguson police headquarters by demonstrators following Wednesday's resignation of Chief Tom Jackson

It seems as though the 'community' is not satisfied with Wednesday's resignation of Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson. A pack of demonstrators gathered in front of Ferguson's police headquarters Wednesday evening following the announcement of his resignation. Sometime after midnight, two police officers who were assigned to control the crowd were shot, one in the face, the other in the shoulder.

Here is a brief CBS News account of the shooting:

Two officers were shot outside the Ferguson, Missouri police headquarters early Thursday, CBS St. Louis affiliate KMOV-TV reports.

The station says St. Louis County police tell it two of their officers were the ones hit. One was shot in the face and the other in a leg, KMOV adds, but there was no immediate word on their condition.
[Later reports say one officer was shot in the shoulder instead of the leg.]

The shots were fired as police were confronting protesters outside the police station, the station says.

Demonstrators had gathered in the wake of the resignation of the city's police chief Wednesday.

Here is an updated Associated Press report:

A 32-year-old officer from nearby Webster Groves was shot in the face and a 41-year-old officer from St. Louis County was shot in the shoulder, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference. Both were taken to a hospital, where Belmar said they were conscious. He said he did not have further details about their conditions but described their injuries as "serious."

Apparently that mob was celebrating Jackson's resignation, but some 'demonstrators' must have been angry that the whole police department did not get axed. So someone decided to exercise his constitutional right to demonstrate by shooting a couple of cops. And the two officers shot were not Ferguson cops.

No wonder cops are biased against African-Americans. And this also explains why police officers have a nervous trigger finger when confronting young black men. Police Lives Matter too!
