Unless you have been living under a rock the name Ethan Couch probably rings a bell with you. A couple years back, while a juvenile, he killed four people and seriously injured two others while driving STINKING DRUNK in Texas.
He more-or-less beat the rap with an “affluenza” defense, essentially asserting that he was such a spoiled rich asshole that he honestly did not know right from wrong. He only got ten years probation for killing four people.
He pretty regularly ignored the terms of his probation and finally fled (with his mommy) to Mexico rather than face a violation of probation rap.
In any event the young asshole, who is now 19, just got 720 days as a guest of the county for four counts of violation of probation. Once he gets out of the slammer he will still be restricted from drinking alcohol and will not be allowed to leave Tarrant County without permission for the term of his probation on the original charge.
Maybe they will put him on a road crew cleaning up dead armadillos from the road.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Spoiled? - yes! Asshole? - you bet! Rich? - not so much it seems. His mommy could only come up with $30,000 for their flight to Mexico and they ended up in a small run-down Puerto Vallarta apartment. And daddy, who is separated from mommy, claimed he could not afford the mandatory head-shrinking ordered as a term of his probation, thus leaving the taxpayers stuck with a $200,000 tab.

I heard he told the judge, "Your honor, I can't do two years." The Judge said, "Son, Just do the best you can."
Whether he can do the time or not, two years just does not seem adequate.
