THERESA MAY OUT OVER BREXIT

by Bob Walsh

Theresa May, the P. M. of the U. K., has announced her resignation as head of her party over her failure to manage a semi-orderly exit of the U. K. from the European Union. This move will, of necessity, mean that she will no longer be the Prime Minister as soon as elections can be managed.

No one really knows what the hell will happen know. Many of the talking heads in the U. K. are guesstimating that the next P. M. will simply ignore the situation until October 31, when the U. K. will automatically no longer be a part of the European Union. This "no-deal exit" will be fraught with short and medium term disruptions of trade and movement across the border. There are not even customs and immigration check points at many ports of entry any more.

There is also real fear that ti will lead to actual violence along the border between Northern Ireland and the rest of Ireland if check points have to be set up again.

Ms. May, however, was adamant. The people said they want out. The country should move in the direction the people said they want to go.
