The God-Emperor of the formerly great state of
California, Gavin (God I Want To Be President) Newsom actually signed
the bill that criminalizes child sex trafficking as a serious felony,
making it strikeable under CA law. The bill had previously been buried
in the Assembly Public Safety Committee, generally acknowledged as the
graveyard for actual public safety legislation, but the few Republicans
in the legislature and a massive public outcry compelled the pro-child
sex trafficking members of the legislature to back away.
I am confident it just killed Newsom to sign it, but sometimes you have to acknowledge when your position is untenable.
