In a podcast with Bill Maher,
swimmer Riley Gaines said she had to “look away” from trans swimmer Lia
Thomas’ “well-endowed” genitalia in the locker room. Pictured is Thomas.Riley Gaines and a number of other actual women sports
competitors have filed suit against the National Collegiate Athletics
Administration yesterday accusing them of violating Title IX by allowing
Lia Thomas and other pretend women to compete against actual women in
the national championships in 2022.
The lawsuit was filed in U. S. District Court in Atlanta.
The plaintiffs are from swimming, volleyball and track. NCAA has so far declined to comment.
The
suit seeks to stop the NCAA from employing transgender eligibility
policies that adversely impact female athletes in violation of Title
IX. The suit also names the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech
because they hosted the national competitions in 2022. Those schools
have not yet been served with the suit and have declined comment.
The
actual women want the pretend women stripped of their awards and those
awards given to the actual women who would have otherwise earned them.
Will
fairness and sanity prevail? It would be nice, but don't bet on it, at
least on the short and medium term. Long term, I think it probably
will.
