RFK Jr. will in fact be on the California ballot this
November with the American Independent Party. This is considered by
many people to be a right-wing fringe (lunatic ?) party.
This
will, however be I think eleven states that he will be on the ballot
for. He is polling right now at very nearly 20%. The talking heads are
asserting that the DNC is getting ready to collectively shit a brick
over this. In a five-way race right now Trump shows up as being Biden
by 9%, though of course we do not have one national election we have
about 54 local elections, if you throw in Puerto Rico, D.C., Guam,
American Samoa and the dark side of the moon.
They
don't seem to be able to convince him to back out, and they certainly
can't FORCE him to back out. A fair number of people, mostly democrats,
would vote for a trash can with Kennedy written on the side in magic
marker or lipstick if they had the chance.
Perot
got close to 20% of the vote but zero electoral votes. He did,
however, pretty well queer the pitch for Bush 41. Biden probably does
not personally remember that but his peeps certainly do.
