While campaigning for the presidency, Hillary Clinton scheduled a visit to an Indian reservation. Addressing an audience of about 200 in the Tribal Council chambers, Hillary presented her standard campaign theme of health care, education and jobs.
"I know that you have been leading hard lives. When I am President, I promise to make life better for you." A couple of Indians responded by shouting "Hoiyah."
"I promise that all of you will be provided with good health care. I will have the government build a modern health clinic on this reservation." Now there were more shouts of "Hoiyah, Hoiyah."
"I promise to build a new school on this reservation so that all your children will get a good education." Most of the Indians then shouted "Hoiyah, Hoiyah, Hoiyah."
Thrilled with the enthusiastic response she was receiving, Hillary went on. "I promise to get everyone of you a job by building a casino on this reservation." All of the audience stood up and shouted "Hoiyah, Hoiyah, Hoiyah, Hoiyah."
Upon completion of her speech, Hillary was invited to take a tour of the reservation. She gladly accepted. When they entered the barnyard, her Indian guide warned Hillary, "Watch it, don't step in the Hoiyah."
