The lawsuit filed by Mexico against several American gun
manufacturers is set to be heard before SCOTUS this coming Tuesday. The
suit, for $50 billion if I remember correctly, asserts that the
manufacturers are being insufficiently careful to make sure their guns
are not being sold illegally to bad people from Mexico. (In fact a lot
of the guns used by criminals in Mexico were bought by the Mexican
government and diverted to or outright stolen by criminal gangs.)
The
suit appears to be a blatant attempt to bankrupt the American arms
manufacturing business. Many liberal state AGs are assisting the
Mexican government in their endeavor.
The lawsuit appears to fly in the face of the federal Lawful Commerce In Firearms Act of 2005.
