LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A man is being held in jail on $500,000 bond after allegedly running over and killing a man in League City on Saturday.
Ted Cassell, 78, is charged with murder. Police say he showed up uninvited to a neighborhood party in Glen Cove, then got into an argument with other guests, including the victim.
After that, Cassell, a Vietnam War veteran, reportedly got back into his truck and hit a 72-year-old man. Investigators say Cassell stayed in his truck at the scene until police arrived.
Police say EMS crews arrived and tried life-saving measures on the victim, but he later died.
His attorneys asked the judge for a $100,000 bond, but the judge denied that amount, saying that Cassell is a danger to society.

This isn’t Harris County. Nobody walks out on a murder charge in Galveston County.
