Rite Aid, which used to be a
major pharmacy chain, is now closing ALL of it's California stores. It
is hard to say if this is as reaction to the state of regulation in
California, a recognition of the difficulties of brick-and-mortar retail
in general, part of the chain's on-going financial issues or just an
"excrement happens" thing. Personally I did very little business with
them, but I did get my mandatory Covid-19 shots from them back in the
day because their scheduling system was the easiest to deal with.
Both Walgreens and CVS are now making significant cutbacks in CA as well.
