The California Globe has reported the following
information on the fiscal situation of a fair number of local government
operations in CA.
The City of Los Angeles is about $1 billion in the hole.
The city of San Diego is about $300 million upside down.
The city of Sacramento is a paltry $66 million in deficit.
The city of San Francisco is not quite $900 million in debt.
Oakland is looking at a $268 million debt over two years.
It
is not possible to guesstimate the L A County deficit right now due to
possible claims of as much as $4 billion under AB 218 (childhood sexual
assault liabilities).
We are running out of pixie dust and unicorn farts with which to balance the budgets here.

It's easy to balance a budget. Just stop spending.
