Wendy McMahon
Wendy McMahon was, until today,
the head of CBS News. She has been on the outs with Shari Redstone,
head of Paramount Global, the CBS parent company, over a couple of big
issues. One of them has been the point of view of CBS News over the
Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The other has been potential settlement
of the multi-billion dollar lawsuit by Donald Trump over alleged
deceptive editing of the Kamala Harris - 60 Minutes interview just prior
to the November election.
Redstone
has the bigger juice card and used it. McMahon is out. It remains to
be seen if CBS is going to quit being a blind supporter of violent
anti-Semitism and what settlement, if any, they will seriously propose
with now-again President Trump. It also remains to be seen what effect,
if any, these changes will have on the Paramount Global merger
intentions. The Board of Paramount Global met on Sunday to look into
these issues, among other things I expect. Perhaps they are hoping that
throwing McMahon under the bus might moderate Trump's position.
Might not help, but probably won't hurt.

Hit the road. PBS or NPR might be hiring. No, wait. They have no money.
