AB84 would, if passed into law, pretty much gut the Charter School in the formerly great state of California.  It would bury them under new regulations, red tape and restrictions.

The problem is that charter schools work in CA and the public school system mostly doesn't.  Therefore a LOT of parents pull their kids out of public schools and put them into charter schools.  That means the public school system gets less money.  That means the teachers union gets less money.  That means the democrat party and individual legislators get less money with which to bribe votes.  The fact that these schools turn out a superior product (educated students) for less cost is immaterial.  Political power is what's important.  The powers that be don't give a rat's ass if our high school graduates can read or not.  What is truly important is to continue to fund the democrat party at as high a level as possible.  You have to keep focused on what is important.

It is unclear at this stage how the bill will do.
