Proposition 50, the CA state ballot initiative pimped by
Gavin Newsom as a 'fuck Donald Trump" measure, is being heard in the
Federal District Court for Central California on Monday.
The
plaintiffs, including the United States Dept. of Justice, allege that
the proposition, which passed by a large margin in November, is
unconstitutional due to the fact that it is intended to increase the
political power of Hispanic population blocks and will in fact have that
effect.
The political
operative who has admitted to making up the map that was approved has
said on the record that it was drawn to do just that.
I
expect that we will hear pretty promptly on this as it effects the
election next year. The filing window for the House of Representatives
offices from CA opens in the next few days.
