MADE IN THE USA

Talk about a complete turn around. Toyota has always had the reputation of producing reliable quality cars. Now that reputation has been shot to hell.

It all started some time ago when complaints started coming in about the gas pedal sticking on several of Toyota’s most popular models. Toyota claimed that this problem was caused by the floor mats entrapping the accelerator. FLOOR MAT ENTRAPMENT? THAT’S HARD FOR ME TO SWALLOW!

Since then, Toyotas have experienced sudden accelerations with eight of their most popular models. This problem is so serious that the company has suspended production and sales of those models until the acceleration problem can be fixed.

But here is the real rub. All of those problems have occurred only with Toyotas that have been MADE IN THE USA and only with parts MADE IN THE USA. The Toyotas manufactured in Japan have not experienced any of those problems.

What does that tell us about American workmanship?

Adding to Toyota’s troubles, now it is also being reported that the anti-lock brake system on the Toyota Prius Hybrid has been failing.

Toyota is now in a class with Mike Tyson. How far the mighty have fallen.
