CRAZY CHARLIE DOING THE DIRT DANCE

by Bob Walsh

Charles Manson, originally sentenced to die 50 years ago for his part in instigating the Tate-LaBianca murders in L. A., died of natural causes over the weekend. Manson was genuinely the creepiest individual I ever met. He was a scrawny little guy, but had a huge amount of influence over his small army of acolytes, who went forth to do his bidding in an attempt to start a race war.

A sane society would have scragged him years ago, but our society is not entirely sane. Such is life (and death).

EDITOR'S NOTE: Charlie was far feom crazy. Evil yes, but crazy no. He was a master manipulator who could play his followers like a fiddle. He even played the media like a fiddle during a number of prison interviews.

How a petty criminal could accumulate a cult of young people is truly amazing. Charlie escaped execution because the death penalty was abolished at the time ans he survived a brutal assassination attempt on his life while in prison.

The biggest mistake Charlie made was in the timing of the Sharon Tate murders. They were committed when Sharon's husband, that sorry ass child rapist Roman Polanski, was away.
