S. C. DESPERATE FOR PRISON STAFF

by Bob Walsh

South Carolina has a hiring problem within its prison system. They are running a tad above 25% vacancies and have been for most of this year. They just can't find people willing to work for $31,000 a year. The department is now actively recruiting in Puerto Rico, where the unemployment rate is about 10%.

The state is saying that if you can pass the background, speak English and are willing to relocate they want you. You can interview via SKYPE and the DOC will pay to move you. (After the hurricane most people don't have much to move so that will probably be a low cost item for S.C.)

Anybody looking for a gig, there is a place to start.
