Back in 2015 two women were stabbed and badly injured in a home invasion attack in Salt Lake City. It seems that their 911 dispatch is handled by a private firm, Priority Dispatch Corp, who allegedly screwed the pooch on their call.
The bad guy, Robert Berger, 48, entered the house thru a window. As the girls fought with him one managed to call 911 and yelled out their home address while the fight was going on. Neighbors also called 911 as they heard the midnight hoorah going on in the normally quiet house. The girls made a total of FOUR calls to 911 over a period of 15 minutes. None of the four phone calls had anyone dispatched on them.
Eventually a cop who was on the street on another call where Berger had attempted to break in earlier heard the ruckus and responded independently. He shot Berger deader than dog shit.
The spokeshole for the company stated, "We recognize this was a very unfortunate situation."
My admittedly limited understanding of the law in this case would indicate that a private company does NOT enjoy the limited immunity that government employees, especially police officers or police department employees, might have in this case. It could turn out very interesting indeed.

They probably answered the call in India.
