The Minneapolis PD has just
announced as new administrative structure that will make the police much
more wonderful in Minneapolis. There are now TWO divisions within the
PD. One is OPERATIONS. The other is COMMUNITY TRUST. Each will be
lead from a newly created Assistant Chief position.
It
isn't clear just yet how many people, besides an Assistant Chief and
(presumably) appropriate clerical support will be in the COMMUNITY TRUST
division, or even how trustworthy they will really be. The new
Assistant Chief for Community Trust will also oversee Internal Affairs
and the Bureau of Constitutional Policing. The man in charge is
DeChristopher Granger, who was the head of IA.
There is also going to be a general shuffling of Deputy Chief positions within the department.
Damn, I can just feel the warmth and fuzziness emanating from Minneapolis already.

Sounds like IA on steroids.
